Who are you kidding you dont really want to get rid of this thing or you would have jumped all over the 14k cash i offered you for it. The dealership is def not even coming close to that on a trade in.

Then i offered 14k and you replied "I was really hoping to get closer to my asking price if possible."
toyota dealer wont even give 13,300 on a runner over 10 years old

most likely wont be getting rid of it. Holding on to memories i had in my previous truck and sold it so me and the woman could move in together and regretted getting rid of it since. 4runner fits what i need more and is already modified and "done" to an extent.

My runner has been going through some changes lately. I hit a deer last month. The brush guard did its job and kept the mechanical bits all in tact. New bumper, fenders, painted hood, a/c condenser, head lights, the list goes on. $6000 in total and since they didn't fix/replace the brush guard, they took $400 out of my deductible. Only paid $100 for a whole new front end.
This pic was after yesterday's mod of removing the running boards. Easy enough to take off. I put the bolts back in the holes to keep moisture from getting up in the body.
I did like the brush guard with the extra fog lights but now that the front is new I think it looks beautiful and now looks higher without the boards.
New shocks (bilsteins 5100s) with fj front springs coming up and a set of hankook dynapro ATMs coming soon. I have to get rid of the xreas because the front passenger shock is leaking. After 164,500 miles I think the original suspension held up fine.

Just bought it.
My primary ride for the last 15 years has been a Jeep in one form or another. Two Cherokees, and one Grand Cherokee. Loved them all, and never thought I would leave the Jeep family. However, a couple weeks ago here in the Puget Sound we had a windstorm, and with my neighbors lack of help, a large chunk of tree feel and totalled my Grand.
I headed up to a dealership that has taken good care of my family for the last few years, hoping to find a newer Grand that I could comfortably settle into, but he had no Jeeps on the lot for the first time in memory. I browsed for a while, looking at a BMW X5, Tahoes, Corvettes, Porsche, trucks, and even driving a nice Escalade EXT.
Nothing felt quite right, though, until I found a 2004 4Runner sitting in the back of the lot. Silver, Limited, with a ton of bells and whistles. Got the keys, and took a test drive, and I think that I'm going to enjoy switching over. It's got more miles than I really want, but from the nav points programmed in, I think a lot of the miles were highway. The V8 engine is strong, the suspension feels nice and "tight", and it is very clean.
I found this forum via reddit, and have been browsing to find common maintenance issues and mods, and am looking forward to a few years of Toyota-ness in my life.

Make sure you change the timing belt and water pump when you are supposed to!

I was inspired by 97ack to toss the paper 1" tweeters from my truck and go to pioneer 3.5" to round out my system. Not bad for the price, or so I've read. I hear they make instruments appear that were never heard before in your favorite songs.

I may do this too. I have Chris' old audiobahn 1" tweeters and they made more of a difference than anything else I've done.

Thanks. It's not my first Toy, so I'm sure I will be satisfied, once I get over the differences.
How involved is the timing belt? I'm not afraid of doing the work (replaced the heads in my Grand when I cracked one, and the Toy has WAY more room under the hood to work in), but curious if this is a day job, or a week long, or somewhere in between.
