You maybe better off adding 2 more brackets and using the velcro straps to hold it in place. that swing back and forth and hitting the side would start annoying me after a bit! Just a thought... but not a bad idea though.

Hasn't done it yet. Quiet on normal roads. Not a 4x4 though, other reasons for wanting it.

i just found this hitch and ball...brand new from my 05 nismo...
i just sold all my other hitch shackle thing when i got the bruteforce bumpers for my taco....
now thats gone this was all i had

These are 5/8 grade 8 bolts double nutted
I do lots of recoveries on beaches
Much stronger this way

I definitely don't know why he did it, but it's unique I wasn't to fond of it at first but its growing on me and it looks pretty cool I plan to either weld a 3/8 piece of steel to make it a cab with a stock sliding taco window, or making the cab enclosed with a 2-3ft deep canvas cover around the roll bars with snaps making it similar to an army truck going to get it vinyl wrapped FJ cruiser army green or desert camp it's my new rubicon rig/daily driver







I don't know the way they cut the cab was super clean though, I think he wanted to stand out alot of guys have standard 1st gen runs and alot of guys have the toyota pickup flat bed, I think he was trying to be creative with his build but never finished and ran out money/time he wanted a house so he let it go for 3800:lol:

Had a piston in the driver side caliper freeze up on the way home from work. The passenger side one has been acting a bit odd too. So replaced them both for free under warranty and threw in new pads. 4th and 5th calipers I've replaced on this truck. Getting to be a pro.

I've done them way too many times. I feel your pain.

How are you keeping that from flopping around like crazy? Is the velcro attached to the side panel as well?

It would drive me insane after a mile

OK, so let me ask a dumb question. Actually, 2 of them:

1. If I'm using this, do I have to put it in only where there is an existing fuse? Or can I find an unused slot and use that?

2. I presume the ground wire goes to a screw on the body somewhere under the dash?

Thanks, I used an add a fuse, and I put it in the accessory fuse slot, ran the positive power wire into the add a fuse and grounded the negative. This is my first time installing anything electrical ( besides a head unit) and it was super easy. If you have any more questions just let me know.

I think the straps are too heavy to let it wiggle that much. I didn't hear anything back there all day. But like I've mentioned, I don't have a 4x4 so my truck sadly won't see anything more than an occasional super shallow mud hole, dirt trail, or hill. I like it but I'm not an offroader more of a road warrior, seen 2 cars catch on fire lately around town. You just never know

Had my friend Mark help me finally install the bilsteins last night. had them sitting in my car for like 2 weeks waiting for a slow day to install them. Alignment is dead on, was kinda nervous because ive always been to used to keeping everything as stock as possible besides radios or speakers. Not suspension or performance parts. All i can say is it rides alot better than i thought and cant wait to drive it to iowa this weeked to see how it handles the 250mile trip.

Ditched the Velcro mic mount and got this one from radio shack. 4 bucks and it comes with screws or adhesive to mount it.
