What did you do with your 4runner today?

It is the material strength sheet (most steel companys can supply it when you buy the material). We use it to help in determining which steel we spec in projects.

Bottom line: don't make claims about products unless you have information to support it. It comes off as if you discount/discredit those of us that have engineering backgrounds that are required to use 'facts' to make claims.

Its not discounting/discrediting anyones engineering background. The only thing being discredited here is your character. Its obvious that you want nothing more than to start/continue an argument that should not have started in the first place.

Be an adult, drop it and move on. I think most of us would like to get back to what really matters in this thread; what we did with our 4Runners today.

Fixed the ripped up copper air line in my rear locker finally well last night anyway..

what was left of the old one lol..

trying a new route out for it, as before it had been routed up and over the ring gear so you had to manipulate it during install of the third member. This route should alleviate any interference the actual housing may cause. Thing that sucks is you can't see or check it once you've put the third member into the axle housing.

Austin, I hope it works out. It seems wierd that the ring gears are that close. Most of the ARB installs I have seen "online" the gears are on the opposite side of the diff/locker. May be a V6 thing not sure. It looks like you could of pushed the copper fitting a tad closer to the housing, it is a close call on it though.

same axles on v6 and v8 runners lol.. But yeah I hope it works out this time as well.

Perhaps the difference you may be seeing in other diff setups is that this carrier is designed for gear ratio's 3.91 and up where as to run the stock gear ratio you would run a different carrier for the 3.73 gears. I can't attest to this by any means but that would be my assumption.

I texted and told him that the diffs were the same between v6 & v8's as well. Also said that the reason it looked "backwards" was probably because you 3rd is upside down from how he's "used" to seeing it, bwahahahahaha...

I think you're right must be the carrier gear sizing.

How many cans of Coor's Light does the manual call for on a job like this?

i finally got around to doing my stereo install
Rockford Fosgate Punch P165-S components for the fronts, P165 Coax for rear doors, RAAM Audio sound deadening on all doors with ensolite foam as a final layer, Alpine Power pack Amp, Kenwood DDX371 double din. everything went smoothly except i got a bad headunit and the Rear RCA outputs do not work. but a new one is on the way.

ive got to say, for a very budget minded setup, the sound is phenomenal, crossover on the amp set to 60hz, and just using the factory loaded EQ presets on the headunit, Gets loud and clear for quite some distance away from the 4runner.

in about 3 weeks i will be putting tacoma TRD struts/coils on the front and hopefully ill located a set of rear FJ Coils by then too.

How do you like the 371, other than the bad RCA outs? I am probably going to have that put in my Runner Friday. Initially it will be run to OEM speakers. Plan to upgrade my speakers at a later date.

About flipped it yesterday! Luckily the hole wasn't deeper than it is. If it was any deeper, I definitely would have flipped. And broke in the passenger side slider as well. First time it has been used since I installed them

Here it is sitting on the slider. I think it actually would have kept me from flipping because of where it landed

Yeah, it looks pretty level to me... Now THIS dude was about to poop himself:

Luckily that nice tree would have been there to break his fall... Good times.

. Good times.

yeah I think I was hanging on to the passenger door on that one.. haha. That is by far my least favorite spot in uhwarrie, even the second ledge on danials isnt as bad as that and it has a 90ft drop off to roll into.
