Its a great camera, found it on ebay, couldn't tell ya the sellers name its been a while since I bought it. The drivers here are "how did they even get their license stupid".
I went to the PD to see if it caused any accidents (I had to get Cayleigh from school) and the cop was shocked that I had a dash cam, he said their crusiers don't even have them. Apparently others had called about possible DUI on the same vehicle but they never found him.

This is great insurance, I don't like the ones that record me though (with the rear facing camera)! Hopefully we can get an insurance discount soon for using these.
Today I changed my front differential and transfer case oil; (Thank you [MENTION=34218]snowbizx[/MENTION] URL: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/maint...ntial-transfer-case-fluids-pics-included.html).
It is harder when you have 90k mi on your truck though, and when I started rounding the "fill" bolt on the rear diff, I stopped. I will get some pro help on monday.
Also changed coolant and spark plugs. Everything took 5 hours total.

You could try doing what I did for my aux reverse lights. Make a metal L bracket and remove one of your rear coat hangers. Then mount the camera there.
Then hard wire it, bringing the leads down the drivers side and use an add-a-circuit to use a switched power source

A request... When you get a moment, can you take a farther back picture of the camera installed? Looks big in the picture but I think it's the close up perception? Thanks.
Not quite what you asked for, but after returning home from vacation last week, I decided I needed to at least try an action cam. In doing some research, I found the Techmoan blog/video reviews. This one appears to be a slightly newer version of the camera Piccrazy uses, although it could also be an upgrade from her model. However, the video should give you a good idea of the size.

After much deliberation, I finally decided to go with the Kenwood DNX491. Though I haven't had time to install it yet, I am very pleased with the customer service & help I received from Steve, [MENTION=93434]gshadow325[/MENTION]. He was more than patient with me as I cycled through numerous different options and he never hesitated to answer any of my 25 or so PM's with questions about this feature and that unit and this technology, blah blah blah. I am far from a stereo expert, but thanks to Steve's help, I am confident that I made the best choice for my needs and the features that I wanted. On top of all of it, he saved me a couple bucks by offering me a great deal on the components that I purchased. Shipping and customer interaction were top notch.

That video is pretty good. I don't have the GPS feature but thats not a big deal neither is the speedometer. One difference between our Runners and the car in his video is the angle of the windshield, it sits a little tight, but Im short and my mirror is angled kinda weird. I show the front of my hood for a little perception too.
The night shots in the video especially when your in town are much brighter than it shows.
If you or anyone does decide to get one I would suggest to leave it on the loop recording and have the screen on, after a few days you won't notice it anymore. If you don't set it to loop recording when the card is full it will stop recording so you have to erase it. I always have the picture on, one time mine froze and I had to reset.
Just some suggestions!!

hey pretty lady, do you have pictures of how it mounts? i bought a radar detector mount that uses the mirror post that may work for you. i didnt use it because the suction cup actually never fell down yet. i think it might help you mount that guy better so its behind the mirror. i have my dash cam mounted behind the mirror on the passenger side. there is more dead space there. i cant even see it behind the mirror.

i will say that mirror looks good but man i would not be able to drive your truck that thing is so big. my mirror i have on my truck now is to low for my liking

The EBC replacement rotors and pads came in Saturday so I changed out the front rotors and pads.
Glad to know EBC stands behind their product.
During the process I broke a Craftsman jack stand. This is the reason I like to have have a second point of failure when working under a lifted vehicle.
Also broke 2 1/2 by 3/8 socket adapters and a 3/8 drive ratchet trying to get the Spidertrax wheel spacers off. Those will be going up for sale soon. I wont deal with those things again.
Oh well, new brakes on the front (in time for Black Bear Pass at the FJ Summit in July) and several Craftsman tools to exchange at Sears.

Dropping it off Monday night for new 12" offset hydraulic jack plate and dual power-pole blades. It's nice to have power-pole on board as a sponsor this year!

I think thats the first pic I've seen of your truck. Its mighty nice, now I see why [MENTION=55855]zopperman[/MENTION] keeps bugging to to start a build.

Its mounted just using the suction mount that came with it. I like where its at, I like to be able to see it and make sure its working. That f**ker that put the fear in me, I can still see the look on his face as he drove away….GRR.

I never knew your 4runner was silver. You should make a build thread with lots of pics.
Haha. You guys. Eventually I will do a build, I said I was going to do one a while ago and I failed. So I can't say when I will get to it.
