Why did you do this? Ferpormance?
How bad was it getting the Front drive shaft off? Are you going to replace anything else while you are down there (spiders etc)?

All of my Zerks.
Finally got the ^%$#ing fill plug off the rear diff.:doh: Had to bring it to a shop yesterday where he broke out his dual gas torch and heated up the bolt. I also learned how to do this properly. He heated up the bolt itself, not the metal around it. Also he heated from all around the sides of the bolt. I ordered a new fill plug and replaced the fluid. 3 liters btw.
Rotated my tires because I had a rolling noise that I could not figure out. Big improvement. Front to back. Back to opposite front. (I don't cycle in my spare because it does not match.
Got pulled over too. :redbrick:

did puddle lights under my mirrors at the same time did the front map light to dome light mod. also at the same time ran wires in for heated mirrors for both front mirrors. also installed a camera on the passenger side mirror for my next project....right turn blind spot camera.

But I won!
Bad crush gasket
Had to pull the intake manifold support brackets and one of the harness brackets to squeeze this header in, with persuasion from a rubber hammer! That's a lot more work to install without removing the front drive shaft, but I wasn't in the mood for driveshaft removal today. Too tricky without a lift!
I replaced them because I had a crack in a hard to reach corner of the header, and my birthday was coming, so I asked for truck parts and I got em!
I also don't mind the power gains
You can really feel the torque from like 2,000rpm+
It sounds beautiful too! I'll be shooting some video soon when I get a chance

Trans fluid drain and fill
I used to tow a flat bed trailer in the past quite frequently, and never did a trans fluid change. So a few months ago, had a shop do a drain and fill just doing a put back in what cam out method.
So after another 10k put on it, decided to give a drain and fill to the trans myself doing the correct temp directions. fluid came out looking good and new went in. Use 3 qts. At 102k now.

tried my hand at welding today and got a new custom front diff drain plug
TIG or MIG? That looks like a pretty damn good weld!

Thanks, I really want to practice and learn. Drain plug was stripped, nut welded to it. took it off and decided that was better than a shiny new hex head one

I've had to weld bolts/nuts on striped out ones just to get them off.
Nice welds for just getting it. And if you want more practice, get some metal and build your own personal bumper.
