Picked up my OEM heated mirrors today. I was a little confused as to how to plug them in. I was under the impression that the mirror comes with a "plug", but these mirror do not. They have "prongs" (pictured), so is the "plug" tucked away in the harness in the doors????

These are plug and play (confirmed by almost all the threads discussing this subject), but haven't been able to find how exactly they "plug in".

You know how the stock mirrors had a power line running down into the door for the mirror adjustment motor power? The heater version is the same, it connects to the exact same plug. It just has an extra wire or two inside to power the heating element.

Is your Runner an 03-05? I think the standard wiring harness was not used until 06onward ? You may have to wire it yourself and locate the power line inside the door that triggers off the rear defrost button.

Nice. I'm trying to keep it modest with a 265/70/17 or 275/70/18 Duratrac, but every time I see the 285s I love them... But what???? The tire size calculator says a 285/75/16 should be shorter than a 275???

Bought my 2nd set of Pirelli ATR Scorpion 265 65 17.

The first set was a replacement for the Dunlops in 8/2007. The first set went 72k miles and crossed the Yukon in winter. Best tires EVER.

Well, the measurement you are comparing is the width of the tire. The height is a ratio/percentage of the width ( in this case 70) added to the wheel size. Need to look up how to read tire sizes.

I know how to read tire sizes, for about 25 years now.

If you'll notice, the aspect ratio of the two tires I compared are both 70. All things equal, 70% of 285 is greater than 70% of 275 or 265. This means a taller tire.

The question here is 16", 17” or 18” wheel diameters, and I didn't think it was enough to compensate to that degree for the difference in tire height.

I further comment about the spec of this particular tire because aggressive tires (track car or off road) are typically known for running wider (thus taller in common duratrac sizes) than other brands.

I would guess that something like a Dueler might be 30.5" for a size rated at 30.5", and a Duratrac in the same size would be 31.4", etc.

The side walls would measure out taller but the overall height is decreased based on a 2" smaller wheel. I think it actually shows the 285 is about a half inch taller in sidewall height since the difference is only about 1.5".

Just so I am clear 285 x .7 is 199.5. Times two is about 400mm. 16 wheel is 406mm. Add together and you get their height on chart you posted.

Same math works on other where you end up in mid 800 range.

You could say things are getting pretty serious.

After my 100k mile service it was brought to my attention that my radiator was weeping at the very top. This was only found out after they topped my fluids off. So instead of paying $400 for oem and $180 to install I ended up getting an aftermarket one and had it installed at my work(BodyShop) and all for $240. The perks of working in the car business.

Get alignment
Remove and clean wheels
Plasti dip and paint wheels
Change oil
Spray paint fender well's
Paint skids
Bleed brakes
Spark plugs

These all take a lot of time with drying etc, the alignment will slow me down a lot! Want to get that done so my dip and paint don't get screwed up!

Sitting at Firestone for the lifetime align as I type!

I'm ok with them myself. I don't like the flow of that truck, but the flares look good to me.
