Got the truck aligned at Toyota and they did a great job, feels amazing now with the lift & tires. I'll post up my specs later.
Also got the BST done.

My ABS wire broke when I installed my lift.
Your bearing wouldn't cause a light
You get 5 internets for that, great work bud!So you are saying his bearing would have no bearing on his situation...
Sorry, I couldn't resist the bad pun.
My new to me 4runner wouldn't go into 4Lo. Been cycling it for 2 months. Frigging "BEEP BEEP, BEEP" was driving me nuts!
I don't need 4Lo, but not having it bugged the hell out of me.
I changed the 3 differentials' fluid to mobil1 today, and while I was down there, I loosened the bolts on the actuator 4 turns, and tapped on it with a rubber mallet and cycled it, just like you awesome folks on this board recommended.
30 min after finishing up, getting that gear oil stink off ( Clorox wipes work great for that!!) I took her for a test drive.
While I was sitting on a slight slope at a red light bored, I let it roll backwards slowly in neutral and hit 4Lo. Still beeping. Not a surprise. I went around a slight turn and heard the worst grinding of all time.
My fiancée and I panicked, drove it off the road and switched it out of 4wd. It went easily into 2wd.
I put into 4Hi, and nothing odd. The actuator must have woken up!
Put it in 4Lo again, more grinding and "Bang", the beeping stopped!!!!
It wouldn't come out of 4Lo, though. I got a cold feeling! I was a way from home and was day dreaming of a huge repair bill, trying to rack my brain of what I did wrong.
I have read about being stuck in 4Lo. Not good. Pulled over again, and checked for leaks, etc., everything looked solid.
Put it in 2wd, and rolled a bit. Beeped for 20 seconds, and stopped! I was in 2wd!!!
I couldn't believe it!!!!!
It goes into 4Hi, like it used to, but now 4Lo works!!
Thanks everyone on this forum!!!!! You all are incredible!!!

I may be a bit compulsive about it, but I cannot resist cycling through all the modes every time I drive, including the center diff lockup temporarily.
It is indeed a lot more ready to switch with new fluids as others have noted.
Funny, I drove an AWD WRX for years and never though about it, now I am tickled I have a 4WD that I can switch in and out of. Not really needed it yet, but like firearms, it is the having it and not needing it that is crucial.
The alternatives have the sucketh.

Be sure you are stopped in neutral with your foot on the brake when engaging and disengaging 4lo. Didn't see you say that in your post so I'm just letting you know if you didn't.
Will do, thanks!
I was but was rolling ever so slightly trying to get it to unstick. I assume it moved a hair and then gummed up the shift that I heard, the grinding. I also assume the bang was it kicking in.
You know what they say abbot assuming, though. . . .
Thanks again T4R.org !!!!!!!!!

Yeah I would try to remain stopped fully when shifting in and out of 4lo if you can.... Not sure if it would hurt anything, but Toyota made the instructions on shifting to 4lo say that for a specific reason.
Mine wasn't used for 6 years, and it luckily just slid right into low range the first time I tried it! For me the 4lo light blinks twice and it's engaged, that quick!
Not a requirement, but a very good idea.

However, Gdmeadors, since you have nothing to lose, at some point you should try engaging low range while rolling very slowly (1 - 3 mph).
Will do now that I got it unstuck. Thanks.
This is what I was thinking when I let it roll to unstick it:
