Actually, douche bag, I have been doing something about that :rofl: :rockthrow:
So far I'm averaging 2lb loss per week and have been at it since the 14th of August. All by keeping my same activity level (work too much to fit the gym into my schedule) and watching what I eat
It's certainly a slow and long process, but I need to get healthier for commercial scuba diving, and I feel a lot better already. Can't wait to see how good I feel back at what I weighed before I broke my back in 2009
Lol. I hear yeah. I have Been doing the same thing. Between 2-3# a week. It is easier said than done.

I rotated the tires & checked everything out. A little surface rust, but nothing compared to you east-coasters. And the plastic coating on my front SS brake lines is starting to peel off, but other than that no problems whatsoever.
While I was under there I also greased the spiders & slip yokes(?) probably for the first or second time since I've had it. I've usually assumed they've taken care of it when I had it in for an oil change. Also greased my sway bars & end-links. Finally, I loosened the top of my rear end-links. I had them cranked down so hard it caused some skittishness over bad pavement & expansion joints. I don't know if I've backed them off enough - going to test drive in a bit to see.

Hmmm, it rides a lot more pleasantly, but the back end rolls a lot more. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be this way or not! I'm also still feeling every bit of bad pavement. Even my 135i isn't this stiff with the crap RFT's. Maybe I'll back off the tire pressure to 32psi and see.
I want to ride with someone who's done the FJ Coil/Bilstein conversion to see if that's worth ripping out the X-REAS for.

the hose clamps you have pictured or any that matter from harbor freight and the correct ones from mcmaster Carr are not the same thing. I know because I have both and quite frankly, you get what you pay for...
I'd only use the harbor freight ones for a short time period in an emergency and not offroad for severe articulation, but that's just me... Good luck... I have some extra mcmaster carr ones if you need them. PM me.

Planning some lighting upgrades and looking for some agreement on the following wires to tap. I have a 2005 v6 w/o DRL's. Below is my interpretation of the FSM for the wires I want to tap.
ground throughout vehicle: white with black trace
dimmable dash power for the dash switch lights: green
front left turn signal power: red with black trace
front right turn signal power: red with yellow trace
rear left turn signal power: blue with black trace
rear right turn signal power: blue with yellow trace
front parking lights: green
rear parking lights: green
rear brake lights: Green with yellow trace
Look correct?

Not today but this past weekend, took on the task of replacing the calipers/pads/rotors on all four corners on the 4Runner. Few weeks ago I brought it down to the dealer to have it checked out, oil change, etc. (Don't have my tools where I am in CT...), and they told me both fronts were seized (had a feeling) and the rears were close to being shot.
Then told me that the quote for just the brakes was over $2500 :doh: That included the 9 HOURS OF LABOR to do the job.
I politely (not so much...) told them to give me my truck back and I'd do it myself.
Ordered EBC dimpled and slotted rotors with the GreenStuff 6000 pads, and plopped in some reman calipers from NAPA. Job took me a whopping 5 hours, and it would have been 4 had 3/4 rotors not been seized on. Thankfully Dad has an acetylene torch!
Not sure where the dealer gets 9 hours, but the total job cost me about $850 plus my time. Thankful for an upbringing working on cars and not being intimidated by a little grease under the fingers.
Also thankful for T4R for some good writeups on little stuff that needs to be addressed - for instance, the key needs to be on to bleed the rear brakes. Blew my father's mind.
No pics yet, but brakes look good. EBC website said dust was minimal. Hoping the dust on my wheels is a result of the break-in coating.

What type of mag light is that? 3 cell D?

Finally mounted my mag light again I've had it in my Tacoma the FJ now this
4 runner just took me a year and two minutes to installlayball: and my buddy over on Fjcruiserforums.com got me started on the Velcro patches.

It is a a 3 D led mag light. Got the mount years ago off of amazon for like 7 bucks. Comes with self tapping screws. I drilled pilot holes one to make sure wasn't hitting any wiring and two to make sure wasn't going to crack the door panel. Holds strong just popped them on the light with no screws took a pencil and marked tops where I liked it took light out and marked the screw holes in mounts drilled pilot holes and screwed it down .:zoom:

I need to reinforce my Maglite mounts on the side of my seat base. They're a little flimsy
