i'd use 18, maybe 20. Butt connectors and heat shrink or solder and heat shrink, pick your poison.

IDK about that...me and my wife inadvertently hit the DAC button all the time. Not sure I'd want the Tcase lock in that same easy-to-hit spot.
Just a thought...
I can see how it'd be an issue, but I keep that area free of clutter as that's where I keep my CB when on the trails. When off the trails, the gf keeps her bag in the footwell so no harm done. Even though I don't use the DAC as I deactivate my TC and VSC by knocking out the decelerometer readings, it'd still be a more useful place to have it than to the left of the steering wheel. Easier to access both with one hand :couch2:

This, me and my dogs hit the DAC button all the time accidently, I don't think I'd want to add more switches to that area but still a cool idea

I thought the center diff lock button would only lock in 4wd? I could've sworn I've hit it on purpose before in two wheel drive and nothing
This is correct, AWD Hi or Lo only.

Very grateful for the time people have taken to put together these tutorials. I figure if I can learn and do one thing every weekend or two I will be off to a great start learning my machine.

Looks nice! is that a speaker box inside the right drawer?I got a little more done on my drawers yesterday. I wrapped some of the top wrapped. I'm painting the drawer tonight, so I'll hopefully get some more pics of it tomorrow

Very easy just tedious. 6 wires that need to be spliced. Like someone else said on here 18g wire would be fine. Was easy to run under the dash to the center console.
Regarding hitting the button. I don't have kids or a dog, so not really an issue. Never hit the down hill assist button either. Make much more sense to me to have it in the center where it is easy to hit on and off.

Yep. Again if I am in 4wd then I am driving in a mess... and that means I better not be so distracted that I am unintentionally hitting buttons!

I agree with you I've never hit a button in the middle and I'd like it there instead of two blanks! maybe I'll do it in the future when I install light bars

And if you're V8 it's AWD all the time. Not sure what kind of wheeling you guys are doing, but if you so much as have a bottle water in your right hand you can easily bump the button (I know, done it many times myself).
The center area is a terrible spot for critical driveline buttons (which is why there are none there to begin with). That stuff belongs on the dash away from inadvertent hits.
Be realistic. You need to be at a complete stop, in neutral, then switch the Tcase lock on, wait for it to fully engage, then put it back in gear (hint, you have to shift the truck with your right hand....). Selecting Tcase lock with your left hand is not hard, it is extremely easy to locate, and should be out of the way. This is why the 4lo/4hi (2wd/4wd for you V6 guys) is on the dash, and not in the console.
In the end, rock on! It's your rig to do whatever you like with!
