Found an old pock-its i had kicking around. I forgot how awesome the things are. I'm still looking for a permanent mounting location, but I noticed someone else used this. It will do for now.

I love the function of this mounting location.... until you have an accident and it becomes your new forehead ornament or worse an airbag projectile. Is your center console storage really any more inconvenient, think about it...

I was also considering if you were to get pulled over. I know it might seem excessive but an officer approaching your window might not appreciate seeing a full tang knife being immediately accessible and ask you to step out of the vehicle to ensure that you are away from it while he/she talks to you.

Took mine down last weekend. Thought about running mine to the rear 12v as well, but I ended up going to the center console, that way if I needed to unplug them of any reason, it was close at hand.

Parked mine for 8 days after giving her a thorough wash to get all the salt off.

Off to Arizona to meet with a bunch of Tacoma guys and gals, do some camping, and do a metric **** ton of gauge cluster swaps!

So my issue with that is Bilstein says take back to where you purchased the product, and Toytec says they will not accept products back and if any issues to send directly to manufacturer?

not the only thing ToyTec has danced around for warranty. In same fashion too. I no longer buy from them.

Made a four corner oval type of race track in an old gravel pit and practiced drifting/sliding in and out of all four corners. This coupled with a few small smooth roller type bumps made for a fun afternoon. Due to the fact my tire tread is about 75% gone, I had little grip this making the course that much slipperier. :biggrin2::lookout:

I'm taking suggestions for the cleanest and most professional way to ensure my 3 sets of RI LED lights only have power available when the vehicle is running.

Right now the 3 harnesses are attached directly to the positive battery terminal, which means even with the vehicle off the lights can operate, thereby draining the battery potentially.

Anyone have any suggestions?

but I am not sure how to connect it so it only has available power when the vehicle is running.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you run them off of a relay, make sure the switch operating the relay only gets power with the ignition on. You can run your main power off of the battery, and your switch off of switched power.

you're gonna have to really spell this out for me... I'm using the rigid industries harness connected to OTTRATTW SPST switches in the below configuration, does this help?

i think i am running my fair share of rigids thru ottraw switches

take #3 and run it to your relay.

relay gets wired like this,

30 12 volt in
87 12 volt out to lights
85 ground
86 in from #3 on your switch

now #2 on your switch you wire to something that is controlled via ignition inside the truck.

easy peasy
