What did you do with your 4runner today?

Modified the stock bass boost remote to fit in my center glove box blanks, the led that comes with it is pretty bright, glows the inside just enough and not too much. You guys can't even tell it's a rockford unless you see my Sig.

is that knob position means boost on or off? i rearrange my knob so its in off at 7 and full at 5.

Used some polishing wheels to clean all the haze and yellow off of my headlights. Applied polyethylene over top so hopefully that'll last a while without them yellowing and hazing again. Wish I had taken before pics.






Also put in super bright LED markers.

I also did this, but for some reason my stock bulb is still brighter than my LED one I put in? Did you twist the bulb in a specific direction so it projects more light outwards?

Did you put it on in layers, or did you just spray a shit ton on the parts? How many cans should I get? Its just for the front grill and the plastic part in front of the hood scoop.

I put on 2-3 light layers then go ham. To give you an idea of whats "thick enough", a can per wheel is whats recommended. If it just that I would say a can would be enough.

Swapped out a rotor that was giving a squeal. Recently purchased this Runner, and although Carfax came back accident free, I am finding evidence of previous damage. The rotor in question was actually torqued so that all the bolts had a fraction of gap to the left of each. Weren't quite sure we could remove the original but finally came loose.

We were about to continue with the spring/Bilstein swap but noticed the sway bar link bushings were cracked and leaking, so I'll order new ones and wait for the swap.

Well, it kind of angles in at a 45 degree angle, but mine are much brighter than they were before. The LED bulbs I bought have 4 little LEDs on each of the 4 sides as well as 4 on top, so I don't think it would matter too much which way they were oriented. They came in a 2 pack from amazon.

About a month and a half ago I finally retired the original Panasonic battery in my '06. It could still start the truck but if I left the interior lights on for even 10 minutes while vacuuming, it would fail to start.

I had bought a Duralast Platinum in the beginning of 2014 as a backup and I installed that. All seemed well for a little over a month, then the battery failed to start the engine after sitting for 2 days. After jumping it and leaving it on a slow charger for a couple of hours, it failed to start the next morning in 25 degree temps. I went to Autozone and they tested the battery and it was only registering 12.3V and they replaced it free of charge.

I must have gotten a bad battery, or leaving it unused for a year killed it off quicker. I hope the replacement is better!

I see that your high beams are still off. You should do the independent fog light mod so that you can really have everything on. Looks really good as is though.

Ya, definitely cool they replaced it. I accidently forgot to tell them that it had sat nearly unused for a whole year, my bad I guess... Sitting unused obviously didn't help but I didn't expect the battery to die because of it considering that from the product description here - Duralast Platinum/Battery 34R-AGM at AutoZone.com the first attribute of the battery is -

"Greater ability to recover from deep discharge than conventional batteries"

Also, considering my Mustang with a 4 year old Fleet Farm battery sits unused for 5 months a year and starts up right away each spring, I'm still thinking I didn't get the best Duralast Platinum battery of the bunch.

found an OEM e7009 nav for $200!!! it shipped today, so red LED swap when it gets here then then install! i will finally have my backup camera in OEM form. will post pics when its installed.

No more rubbing on the sway bar. Now I just need to move the front liner forward a bit. Doesn't seem to be hitting the rear mud flap driving around town. Will have to wait and see what happens when off road.

You truly don't know how bad you need a garage until you don't have one.
