What did you do with your 4runner today?

made some custom yellow covers for the hella 500ff's. they match the color of the fogs when off but when on my fogs almost look white. night will tell how they really look

Today I started troubleshooting found this FML. When i pop it open water and mud came out smelled horrible.






Finally got this yesterday Now picking a winch since my 4wd doesn't work LOL.

I kicked my 05 T4R 4WD Sport for the first time today. I have owned it for 4 days now. I went to take the wheels off, to replace the brake rotors & pads on the front, only to realize it had locking lug nuts on each wheel. I then discovered that the vehicle did not include the key to unlock them.

From the backyard scrap pile for the price of free and half, who would've thought there would be a pristine set of 18" fox coilovers sitting back there. Somehow fits in the factory coilbucket too!

1 minute with an impact wrench. Worked like a charm. I also think some tire shops will remove for free or a nominal charge.

Looks good, I'm gonna have to open mine back up to seal them correctly, condensation after painting them black. Was fine all winter just happened now, oh well. Anyone know where to get replacement lenses for the headlight housing?

I think so. The 4Rs already have some of the best halogen projectors out there. They do well with hids but only doing a true hid projector retrofit will you do it right and keep everything legal if that's a concern for you. With the new lenses I can see a little further, there is more width and the overall fullness of the beam pattern is really good. An added bonus is you have a little bit of a color flicker at the cutoff line as well as the sharper cutoff as seen in my pics. It's easy to swap them out. Once you have the headlamp assembly apart it's just another set of screens that old the projector in. The lens is held in with just 3 tabs. Popped out the hold and put the new in and throw it all back together and enjoy. And for $40 for new lens or $25 for "blemished" lens it's a good upgrade. I'm very happy with them.

I'll have to double check but I think Toyota does. I know they sell replacement lenses for the 3rd gens cause I looked them up for a fellow guy at work. But it cost almost as much as the whole assembly. I'll put my vin in and see if that applies to us 4th gens.

Today I used my work trailer to move my tool box and car parts to a friends garage.

I got this put on

then started to work on the transfer case plate. I got the cross member on then I went to take off the tube supports. Then this happened

Thats right all 8 bolts broke. What was left was very badly corroded. Already broke 3 drill bits trying to drill new holes to tap. Also one of the bolt holes in the radiator support bracket for the front plate is completely stropped out. Going to either get a time-sert in there or might just get a longer bolt and put a nut on the top of it.
