Hit some local trails with Tacoma's and Landcruiser's.
That reflector/cat's eye on the road looks like its levitating! It took me a second to figure out it wasn't a shadow, but a black spot!

I have the 4000nex, you'll love it. How hard was the backup camera install and where did you put it?

Not much considering I just picked it up last weekend, but I have been scoping out this forum for ideas...
I haven't done much of anything since mine has been nothing but problems since I bought it a week ago. Still at the dealer for another week having repairs done to make her roadworthy.
Once I get it back, the first mods shall be a new head unit w/back up camera and Bluetooth, 06-up black projector headlights and new sway bar bushings and end links.

My sway bar bushings (Energy's) showed up at the performance shop I ordered from, but my Bilstiens are still not in. So I did the front bushings, no problem and at the time realized it's time to clean and paint the OEM skids. here's a shot of the old ones that were worn.
Took about an hour to do the fronts, but I wasn't rushing and I was talking to my youngest son (19) while working.
Went to do the rear and the first bolt I hit was tight but moving...until it snapped. I stopped and hit the others with PB again and will wait to tomorrow to try them.
Of course it was a bolt on the left side where the gas tank makes things tight, so now I have to figure out how to get a drill in the space to get the thing out.

People will tell you that plasti dip always peels off and isn't durable but that isn't true if you apply it the right way. If you apply it on a clean surface with multiple light coats and you get it thick enough it will last you a LONG time. It is flexible so instead of scratching it somewhat absorbs scratches. The only downside is that it is terrible to clean and if it does start pealing the only way to fix it perfectly again is to tear it off completely and respray it.
best part is it's reversible. Try it on a section and see if you like it. It's pretty hit or miss when it comes to plasti-dip opinions here.

started to flush my brake fluid with valvoline dot 3 & 4 , rotated the tires and checked all tires pressure, changed my 100k miles denso ikh20 to some fresh ones, seems to look ok, no oil came on the coil packs, also cleaned the maf sensor and throtle body, should be cleaning my trueflow foam filter tomorow and do my 10k mobil 1 oil change and filter next week.

Looks great! I am in the middle of wrapping mine up now. I bought new OEM '06+ Sport Edition headlights and swapped out the projectors for the Morimoto D2S, running a TRS Elite HID 4300K setup.
I haven't done my parking lights yet, either. I'm still tracking down everything I need. I also need to repair my bumper trim that sits below the grille. Mine has a bunch of broken clips, and I may just replace it when I order the parking light harnesses.

the first purchase a few days after bringing the 4Runner home
picked up this fj skid last night to fill up that huge hole between the end of the bumper and the start of the factory skid
Not pictured are the 4300K HID's (headlights and fogs) that came in the mail the other day. Just need a little time to throw all these parts on! Also Kevinpt, looks like you're not far from me. I'm just a little bit down the road in Frederick MD
edit: didn't mean for the pics to be so big, I'll have to work on resizing them for future posts

picked up this fj skid last night to fill up that huge hole between the end of the bumper and the start of the factory skid

I replaced my front pads Saturday with the Porterfield R4-S pads I bought sometime back. Replaced the brake lines with steel braided units and bled the brakes/ cycled out the old brake fluid.
I'm not super impressed with the "improvement" or lack their of. I only replaced the fronts and I didn't turn the rotors... so maybe thats why. But they both looked awesome so I didn't see the sense in spending another $30 plus the time it would take.
We bled the crap out of the brakes trying to make sure their was no air in the system. I dunno. I'm trying to think through any possible reasons it might not be performing at 100%.
Maybe I'm expecting too much. But $129 for front pads... I think its fair to expect a little more.
Also cleaned my PCV valve. I hoped it was clogged to help explain what appears to be a rear main seal leak. It didn't look very bad though... so weird, hoping that a PCV valve is clogged.

Going to get these, thanks. The one on my driver's side front is already rusted and I had been thinking of painting it, but this is a lot easier.
