What did you do with your 4runner today?

This is one of those "stupid things" you do b/c it's cheap.

Going to get these, thanks. The one on my driver's side front is already rusted and I had been thinking of painting it, but this is a lot easier.

If it were me, I'd replace it (can't be expensive), then get this cover. If you cover it up, you'll forget about it and the hinge will rust into oblivion. Or not.

Tried to put on a license plate holder on the rear yesterday, snapped the head off the rusty bolt. Went and purchased a bolt extractor, drilled it out, snapped the extractor. Now I have the extractor and the bolt bolt stuck in the threads.

I got annoyed and just tossed the plate in the passenger seat. Maybe I'll try to see if I can access it through the inside of the hatch when I have more time. Otherwise I'm going to have to grind it down and try to drill it out again. Why on earth Toyota didn't use plastic inserts or at the very least stainless bolts is beyond me.

Yeah, me neither, considering all of the plastic covers under my seat have come up a million times to the point where I don't use them any more

When I purchased my 4runner I noticed there were a few of those little plastic details missing. 1 front driver seat mount cover, 2 in the rear seats and 1 of the buttons to lower the seats was gone. The OCD in me had to replace those. They bugged me every time I saw them. Now all is good.

Heh, yeah they all fell off my 03, and drove my OCD crazy, when it started happening on my 08, I wasn't surprised, annoyed, but not surprised. I've given up on trying to get them to stay at this point

The only downside is that it is terrible to clean and if it does start pealing the only way to fix it perfectly again is to tear it off completely and respray it.

I've had good luck cleaning mine with armor all wipes. Takes off any wax residue real quick.

You just might. My wife is a teacher for FCPS and her school is around that area, so I'm out that way on a pretty regular basis. Shouldn't be too hard to spot, I never see any T4R like mine around here! And if I'm driving my 'Wagen... well, you'll hear me before you see me. Ha ha. [emoji41]

I checked all my filters the other day. Air & cabin filter is still like new, where I bought it in early March.

How often should I change the transmission filter and fluid? Plus, what's a real good upgrade from the stock oem air filters?

It's begging to be lifted/leveled especially after putting the skid on. It's pretty low to the ground but after a lift and bigger tires I think it'll look okay. I'll wait for the newness to wear off and then I'll decide whether I really like it or not

Edit: installation was 100% bolt on as the fj and the 4th gen 4runners have the same mounting hole locations
