What did you do with your 4runner today?

Swapped out a CV axle on the passenger side this morning. Over the past couple months I have:
-Swapped in Leather Seats
-Added Pioneer 4100NEX and Rear Monitors
-Changed Spark Plugs
-Changed Oil
-Changed Transmission Fluid
-Flushed Radiator
-Tacoma Shock Swap
-Zero Calibration
-Changed CV Axle
-Added tube style OEM roof rack
Outside of the plugs, rack oil and stereo, I had never done any of this stuff, but the DIY write-ups on here are confidence inspiring.

Wait, wait, wait, I had school today I was learning about MHC1 and MHC2 and how B-cells and T-cells alone with Phagocytosis work with the immune system.

Just picked up a new set of wheels. MB 352 16x8.5 et-12 4.5 BS. I tested one wheel out and had no issues with the brakes. Just a little concerned about clearance (ucas mostly) when the duratracs go on. What does everyone think? I would certainly appreciate some feedback!! Thanks! Full OME 3/2 the 19th.

I ran 4.5'' backspacing with more aggressive 285s. I never hit my stock UCA.

apply my left over sheets(4.5) of second skin damplifier pro on the rear floor and halfway under the back seat, will test if it quiet down the noise from the muffler in that area. also a fresh mobil 1 extended oil change, i wonder if i should start doing those at 15k vs 10k im doing.

Ordered a new cat-back exhaust, plug anti-foulers and d/s rear O2 to fix my leaky intermediate pipe and P0420 code.

Not 100% sure what that is... but I'm pretty sure I did cause I installed the 77 series High Flow air intake...:shrug:

Here's a reminder for people who live anywhere that rust is an issue. Replace your license plate bolts with stainless, plastic, or something that won't rust into place.

I've had my 08 4runner since August (about a year) and I bought that vehicle because it was fairly rust free for being in the midwest. I have changed the plate a few times since buying so I had no issues. That was summer. This winter apparently did some damage.

My in-laws bought me a license plate holder for christmas so I finally got around to putting it on this weekend. One of the bolts came out fine but the other snapped off at the head. F***.

I soaked it in PB blaster to try and loosen the bolt, drilled it out, then tried using an extractor to remove it. I ended up snapping the extractor where it contacted the bolt. Double F***

I came back to it a few days later (after letting my frustration die down) and tried grinding it down and removing it. Good luck trying to drill into a piece of tool. I decided to try removing the internal panel for the hatch. That was easy.

After getting the plastic vapor barrier put aside, and what a messy piece of plastic, I realized I could have used vise grips to remove the bolt from the inside. Since I had drilled it out initially, it snapped as soon as I tried to turn it. Triple F***.

I eventually tried everything and it came down to trying to remove the threaded square nut from the hatch all together. It was tacked on in the corners with some very tiny welds. I ground those down with a dremel and it started to come off clean. Then one of the welds decided to hang on a little too long. Quadruple F***.

I used a bolt/nut to secure the plate for now, but I'm hoping to have a permanent fix done once it stops raining. Now I know how my dad felt when he shut my fingers in a car door when I was little. I felt so bad for hurting the poor girl.


OH, and I put on some RainX wiper blades to replace my 3 month old Trico blades. What a difference. I think I'll buy these RainX blades from now on.
