Painted the Demello. Mounted my Piaa Led lights. They fit perfect......Mounting the bumper tomorrow afternoon....Woot!

Aw and welcome to the bodyshop business. The only thing I would say is if its not too big of a job either, the shop will sit on it waiting for the adjuster instead of actively pursing the insurance adjuster stating they have their estimate written and need them to review it. But yes light a fire under someone! :yo:

Typical, it's not our fault but theirs, and vice versa. The body shop claims that they submitted the claim on the 30th before the holiday weekend. However it never showed up in the system at my ins company. I made both parties talk and they are resubmitting the claim. I emphasized to my adjuster that this is ridiculous and needs to be solved asap.

Took her to Firestone because I think I slung a wheel weight off and they redid the whole balance for free, as they should. Got the free break inspection and found out my squeaking, which I thought was brake dust, were my pads digging into my rotors. They quoted $439 to replace two rotors and two pads :flipoff: I hope he was just doing his job and didn't actually think I was retarded.

Then I went to the dealership and got my free dash on order. they will be calling me in a few weeks to let me know when the parts come in

Now I'm just waiting for the 98F temperature to cool down so I can do an oil change

Oops, I'm trying to figure out which ceramic pads I'm going to get. I know a guy who runs our local AAMCO so I'm gonna go over there tomorrow to get his "special price" on rotors and just change them out myself sometime next week along with whatever pads I go with. If anyone has an recommendations please throw them at me

Started in on the timing belt job and found a leaky water pump. Got hung up on the ac compressor bolts, so for now they soak in pb blaster.

Got her inspected at Priority Toyota. They got me in and out in less than an hour. Was very pleased with the overall customer service.

Went to the dealership today to get my brakes checked out since my pedal was going mush on me. Figured it would be frozen calipers again, found out both my front wheel bearings were completely shot and the dealership said the calipers and everything are fine. The bearings are causing my brakes to feel mushy. Now gotta cough up some moola to get those replaced, sigh.

cant really get my head around this:
how can a bad wheel bearing make the brakes mushy?...........anybody care to explain the physics behind this phenomenom, am lost!:der:

My trusted garage says my AC condenser is leaking. I had unspectacular AC last summer, and nothing but warm air this year.

They quoted me $600 including labor to replace. No thank you. I guess I'll try a DIY Can of Recharge and hope it lasts me for a while.

Ever since I installed the FJ springs I had a considerable lean with the driver's side sitting about 3/4" lower than the right. I figured out this week that I had installed the front springs on the wrong sides. I had first installed them based on the color codes then I got to looking and the spring on my passenger side had more coils than the driver side. So...I spent an hour and 20 minutes yesterday swapping them around. It sits dead level now at all 4 corners with a 1/2 tank of gas. Moral of the story...don't rely on someone telling you what color code goes on which side.

That's interesting to hear. Glad you got it sorted out. How noticeable was the lean? Can you clarify what year your FJ springs are? I followed the color code and mine appear ok. Mine are from an 07 4WD, but now you've got me thinking that I should get in there and count coils just in case.

$600 isn't too bad actually, considering they have to take the entire dash apart. Regardless, I'd still probably live with the windows down for a little while.

The lean was noticeable to me, but probably not anyone else. It was the first thing I noticed though. Mine supposedly from a 2013 FJ 4x4 with "Off-Road" package but I found this from another post and they are the same as these that are off of a 2014 Trail Team FJ.
