What did you do with your 4runner today?

$600 isn't too bad actually, considering they have to take the entire dash apart. Regardless, I'd still probably live with the windows down for a little while.

I just double checked the voicemail in case I mis-heard when I was actually on the phone, he does say Condenser, which I'm pretty sure is the radiator-looking thing up front, isn't it?

The part isn't too expensive so I might give this a shot on my own if I can find a good video tutorial.

But yeah, on a 10 year old truck with 160k on it, that I intend to drive into the ground (so not worried about resale) I'll not be paying that kind of money to fix a non-essential, non-safety item.

Yeah, seems high, but I guess if you get into taking off bumpers and stuff then maybe the labor hours add up.

Found some info on the forum about changing these and it doesn't seem too bad at all. I can do it myself then pay to have it professionally recharged.

I'll probably wait until next spring for that though and just see if a can of air will get me through the next couple of months.

Turns out the wheel bearing had so much play in it, that when the wheels turned, the rotor would wobble around and push the pads and pistons back into the caliper. It would basically have a super soft pedal when the brakes were first applied, which would seat the pads back against the rotor, and then when the brakes were re applied, they would brake normally.

well here is how last night went.
my friend upgraded his 2013 tacoma so he gave me the rear bilstein 4300s
I bring in my truck in my friends shop,jack the back, and since i couldnt get the bolt off the top, i cut that sh*t!
I come to realize that the rear bilstein is much shorter and the rear EYE is the wrong EFFING size... fml
At that point, i thought i was F*cked..
To my luck, my buddy had his OME rears off his 80 series land cruiser and they fit like a glove!
so the rear is much stiffer, i love it. now i guess i'll have to get OME fronts.
Which springs should i run with the OME to get 3" lift in the front now?

About to flip 120k on my '06 V8 and decided to give it some nice upgrades.

EBC Greenstuff pads all around

Every light bulb is now PUTCO LED both interior and exterior
PUTCO LED Low and High Beams along with Fog lights

Can not be happier with how it all turned out. Handles and stop great. Ride hight is perfect for me... contemplating new wheels and bigger tires now.

Goes back under the knife tomorrow for 3 days having a serious audio system installed. I'll post again once it is finished.

Went to drop my wife of at the airport this morning and walked around the side of the car to see this.





I was street parked in an end spot. Someone must have cut the corner too sharp and tagged my bumper. I was livid the moment I saw it. Called my insurance company and have an adjuster coming out this week.

THe fasteners in the wheel well were still in place but the bumper was ripped away from them making large holes. The bumper also has holes in it from being folded/bent so extreme. I looked up prices for replacement bumpers if I were to install. Roughly $200 before paint $200ish for paint. I'm guessing it would run around $1500 to replace the bumper cover at a body shop which is what got me thinking about an offroad bumper like a cbi or something similar.

I'm keeping an eye out for a white truck/van with driver side damage.
