I am really pleased with the look. It is amazing how that one addition completely changed the look of the truck.

Not 4th gen related but I know you guys can feel my pain. I had a lot of money, time and effort in my old 3rd Gen. I sold it to a guy I go to church with when I bought my 04. This is what happened this weekend. His dad told me he pulled out in front of someone. It stood the 4Runner up on it's nose and then it rolled over on the passenger's side. Driver got a bad gash on his hand, but otherwise fine. I'm glad he's okay, but sad to see the old Runner go.

That really sucks. I hate that for them but good thing was that he wasn't seriously hurt.

I was curious about one of my favorite cars i had a while back and did a search with the old VIN. When i finally tracked it down it was listed as a salvaged. It had been stolen and totaled.

Well, it was a week ago today. I have been trying to get some better pics of the finished product but just haven't had any free time to do so.

Last Tuesday got this little package delivered. (yes, i know some people voted against the triple hoop but I really liked it)

How do you like those PIAAS? Are they brighter than your OE fogs? Throw some Yellow Laminex on them and get more function from them in the foul weather! Every time I read your threads you're doing more I wish I had thought of! Kudos good sir!

Wow, glad to hear that he wasn't hurt. If I would have been hit head on and not swerved, there's no question in my mind that I would be dead or a vegetable, so I'm glad that it wasn't worse. Glad to hear he's ok.

Got a call from the body shop, they finally tore down the back end and said there's no frame damage or additional damage, just clips and brackets, progress!

Honestly i wasn't sure how i would like these fogs since they are so new. The stock fog lights put out a good bit more light than these so i am not extremely pleased with them as of now. I need to try them without the grills over them to see if that makes a big difference. I probably should have just gone with the Acro lights everybody else had used in their DO bumpers but wanted to try something different. They aren't terrible, just not what i was hoping for.

When i get some free time i need to update my build thread. Since my last update i have added the RCI skid, updated my headlights to a pair of blacked out 06-09 headlights with HID bulbs, changed out my step lights to some led bars and arranged some storage in the back of the truck.....just haven't had time to document any of the changes this summer

I did recently, happened immediately after rotating my tires. Turned out to be a Rear wheel bearing. For some reasons it just started a growl/howl that got louder over a few weeks time. Really weird.

Muffler swap goin in tmrw. Just wanting a lil more exhaust tone and seein if it'll add any mpg, worth a shot! 24" overall length, 18" case. Jones MaxFlo full boar muffler. Identical to the Magnaflow, except for price, snagged it for $53 online. T409 full stainless steel also. Local shop welding it on tmrw for $25.

Question for you guys. Both of my outer CV boots are completely torn. Yes I know they need to be replaced, and I will be doing it soon. I bought it this way. But I have never owned an full time 4WD, and especially not one with severely torn boots.

My question is: Can my CV axles being bad in my V8 4WD cause a driveline vibration similar to a U-joint being bad?

Cant seem to "shake it" (pun intended). Ive checked everything else twice. It has to be this or the rims (bought from my brother)

My theory is that this is the exact issue, but I was hoping for a little positive reassurence since the CV axles need replacing regardless.

I had it made from a guy in the San diego ca area...Let me find his info for you I need to get ahold of him anyways cause he made a spare tire mount for me as well for the rack.
And honestly i only paid like 260 for it and he drove out of his way and dropped it off around 8pm at my house when he finished it and stayed to put it up on the truck to make sure everything was to spec and liking..cool dude.

Yes they sure can. My drivers side is bad right now and I get some vibration from it. The more wore out the inner bearings are the more vibration as it binds and doesn't move smoothly anymore. I'm hoping to replace mine this weekend.

Does it only vibrate at certain speeds or RPMs, or all the time? I have a vibration that I've been blaming on my transmission, but I've suspected the CV axles too.
