What did you do with your 4runner today?

Not sure how I would go about that, my ins has been handling the claim and dealing with the other company, and paying out the money. I'm just trying to get my vehicle repaired

Taught my 16y/o brother the ways of the 4Runner haha. He got a 2004 limited v6 and he has never worked on cars so I showed him what everything was under the hood, how to check the oil, air filter, tire pressure, etc. Took out his HCF and sea foamed through the throttle body as well as giving his engine a good degreasing and wash. Taught him how to properly wash it, then used rubbing and polishing compounds on the lackluster paint, and waxed. (After I washed and waxed mind of course haha)

I know exactly what you mean being from Iowa and having no lifted Yota's around. I would say I see more kitted out 4th gens in MN, but thats probably due to your ridiculous winter season and snowfall! Hope to run into you sometime as we go up every year!

word. I am getting good at this home alignments, they said it was damn near perfect. I swapped tie rod ends and jumped it and heavily offroaded it a few times. Not bad.

I was quoted $500 for a front passenger CV axle and that was just for the genuine Toyota part. Add another $200 for labor. I thought this was supposed to be an inexpensive part? Another dealership can do it for $400 with re-manufactured parts. Can anyone chime in before I get taken for a ride?

Do it yourself! CV's aren't too hard to replace/repair.

changed my power steering fluid with castrol transmax full synthetic, it was the cheaper, about 1 dollar less than mobil 1, but itll get changed at another 30k. i hope i did it right, i sucked out the old fluid while the engine is running, and pour new in, and did lock to lock turns, then suck that out and repeat till i got 2 quarts. this new motive power fluid extractor is handy, worked perfectly when i flushed out brake fluid on another car i was workin on earlier.

I've been meaning to do all this for a while but haven't been in town. So here it is. First I plasti dipped my emblems red

and finally mounted a fire extinguisher

I got the rims for $150 from a guy. I plan on buying some rims that are correct offset and bolt pattern. Wish I could fit 15 inch rims!

I actually tried a little to hard to make 15's fit on my truck (after reading through that one guys build thread). I ended up shaving to much of my caliper, and having to rush to town before my brake fluid all drained out.

Wheel spacers (or a much shorter backspacing) would be nessesary, but I kept the caliper I ****ed up so I could actually see how much I could shave before I hit the internal reservoir.

I'm going to fool around with it some more at some point to decide what wheel spacers I to buy, but I really think I'll be able to make the 15s fit on my SR5.

I know it can be done, definitely not easily though. If you fool around with some spacers then you will know what size offset/backspacing to get. I guess the biggest issue is that I wouldn't want my wheels to stick out 3 inches, but I'm not sure it would take that.

Finally settled on an in-dash and went with the Pioneer AppRadio 4. Install was a breeze and I'm obsessed with Apple Carplay, don't know how I lived without it so long.
