What did you do with your 4runner today?

Rebuilt my UCA's

New Energy Suspension uca bushings and Ball Joints both of mine were completely blown out bad, and the bushing were just shot and had play in them.
So I torched them out cleaned the inside and metal sleeves and pressed in the new bushings was straight forward with no issues and then took out the old arms and installed my completely new rebuilt FJ trd 4wd uca's..I can say what a difference all new parts makes.

Cycled my custom lt kit for the first time. Cycled a clean 14.5" but will probably be limited a little by the CV angles. Happy with the outcome so far though.

Got rid of the high clearance lca

And found out the rear sway bar is snapped in the middle... Jesus, whatever she hit must have been serious.

Replaced front pads and rotors as well as the passenger side caliper. Turned real fun when the bleeder valve on the new caliper snapped off when I went to open it.

Me and the wife took the little man exploring in Dawson Forest WMA today. This was his first experience on "rough" roads. He didn't mind at all.

I ended up finally putting on the rear diff breather mod in the parking lot of advance auto parts on the way today haha. I knew there was a water crossing so I figured I should knock that out.

I started treating the frame with Fluid Film. I only had time to do from the rear axle to the back, but that's where most of the rust is. The frame is mostly in good condition, but the welds have some rust. The brackets welded onto the rear diff are extremely rusty. I didn't do much prep work except for rinsing the frame and letting it dry, then using a toothbrush and rag to knock off any loose dirt. The fluid film should flow around stuff, so I don't think prep work is as important as with paint.

I wire brushed and primed a rusty spot on the trunk where it looks like the previous owner hit something with it (maybe their garage door). I used a dremel wire wheel attachment to get down to bare metal and take off loose paint. Next I'll wet sand the primer to smooth it out, and cover that with some touch up paint. I don't need it to look perfect, I just want it to stop rusting.

I worked on the weatherstripping at the top of the windshield a bit. The windshield is leaking, and I pulled it back far enough to see that, sure enough, it's not glued down right where it leaks. I don't care about that much, but the weatherstripping seems to be making excessive wind noise. I glued it back down with some 3m weatherstripping adhesive, and that made a big mess. That stuff is a pain to work with. I'll probably just put a bunch of silicone caulk on it next to keep out water and hold the weatherstrip down. Brake cleaner is good for taking that adhesive off glass.

I put some 3m synthetic wax sealant on a few panels. It's annoying how many seams this thing has. It got dark, so I'll need to finish another day.

My new brake pads should show up tomorrow, so I'll install them then, and spray more fluid film on stuff that I can see with the wheels off.

Yea I am saving for new skid now. Mine was rusted through. Only real rust on I have seen. I guess some road salt was left in there. Been looking at the RCI stuff

Refinished my OEM headlights with Opti-Lens coating, so hopefully it doesn't oxidize again in the next few years.
Also plastidipped my grill. I like how it turned out!
