What did you do with your 4runner today?

Yours are exactly the same as mine. I just had to deal with it. Got the lines tight and I had to bend the inside mount out a bit on mine to fit properly.

Other than that. Same shit as me I've just learned to deal with it. Barely noticeable to the outside world and i barely notice it now.

Thanks. That's actually good to know. I have a feeling I'll be doing a little bit of glass filler and Bondo work and some extra sanding on that side this week. Never having worked with fiberglass, I wasn't sure what do do. Wood= no problem, Metal= I'm learning, (might be buying my first welder this weekend if the craigslist deal turns out to be what he says it is), Fiberglass= lots of interwebs searching this week...:frusty:

Glass is worse then metal and wood. Wear gloves long sleeve and respirator.

Not Today but the last Week

First off I upgraded from a 3rd gen Limited to a 2005 4th gen Limited V8
Bought BFG All Terrain KO2 (265/70/17)
Installed Daystar 1.5/2.5 Kit
Next week I need to detail the 3rd gen and get it up for sale.
After that I will tackle the dreaded V8 exhaust leak. (it was priced accordingly)

no more cabin air filter critters

We currently have to park our 4Runner outside and I've noticed when cleaning out the cabin air filter that there's been something (mole chipmunk, squirrell, not sure) stockpiling stuff, nesting material, nuts etc on top of the cabin air filter... (probably because this is a nice warm spot shielded from the elements

today I decided to fix this issue. First removed windshield garnish and discovered easy access... (that's the top of my cabin air filter you see...)



$3 later after buying some mesh at lowes the problem is solved.

Thanks for that writeup. I'll be keeping an eye on mine from now on. Your post prompted me to check my cabin air filter and it did need replacing. So I just did it while on my lunch.

I went to an AC/DC concert at the dodger stadium, while I was up in my seat I could see the lot I parked in but could not see the Runner because it was dark. I then decided to pull out my key fob and press the lock button expecting nothing to happen. I saw the two lights light up as I pressed it. I could not believe that I was so far from the vehicle and the remote would still reach. I had marked where I parked on maps so I was able to see how far it was from me. Key Fob could reached over a 1/4 mile away!!

got them from direct tire for $430 they are lighter then scs or fn wheels and have a 4.5 backspacing with 8.5 width.
