but yea, i am lifted too, im debating and reading left and right about both. how cold was it when you got it done?

You know there are those 1%ers. . .and of course by that I mean stock vehicles hahaha.

But it was about 45-50 degrees in my garage, is was the warmest weekend thus far in the past month, and I just had my personal heater going on the other side of the garage. After completed I did crack the garage door a bit to let the fumes clear(not that they were horrible it smelled fine). Maybe next time I will use the parents heated garage.

Ran Yankee Hill *almost* to the top!!! And then on the way down, slipped the bead on my tire and my buddies and I used the old butane and flame trick to re seat it The tire didnt quite seat all the way (leaking about 1 bar every 15-20 seconds), but it settled on there properly, so I think there was just a bit of snow stuck in it. Either way, absolutely PHENOMENAL day!!! Id recommend this trail right now, even with the snow the past couple days, if youve got good clearance and at least one winch. We didnt need either of the two we had, but it could still get hairy.

I sprayed FluidFilm on the underside of my 4R.

While shopping for a 4R I saw more than one with rusty rear hatches. So I also removed the rear hatch cover and sprayed some inside of that.

Luckily my 4R came up from the south and is relatively rust free. I want to keep it this way, so FF on the underside was my first priority.

This all took a few hours to do

I find fliud film doesnt last long. I sprayed it a month and half ago. And i barely see it on my underside anymore and am in new york city. Theirs no snow or salt yet on the road and am disappointed. With the outcome. Almost 20 dollars for it to not last threw the winter.

Rub your finger over the sprayed area. It gets covered in road grime and you can't see the shiny coating anymore but it's there.

New sneakers (Cooper AT3's) installed last night and got their first few miles on them.

Initial thoughts: while not even an incredibly aggressive A/T tire, they are a huge upgrade in looks alone over the stock Dueler HT 840's. Travesty that those garbage tires are what come standard on our beloved rigs.

After a few highway and city laps - QUIET! They don't feel quite as planted @ highway speed or cornering as the old tread, but to be expected now running a larger lug A/T tire after getting accustomed to a worn down highway tread.

Stopping distance in the rain was drastically improved. Got a chance to stomp on the brakes going down a hill leading into my complex that is a pretty slick road when wet - the Duelers would slide more than I should admit which is what caused me to dump them even with some ~ 6/32" tread left. These new Cooper's are much better in stopping my 4Runner.

Next up is a weekend ski trip across a few mountain passes with heavy snowfall in the forecast. We'll see how they handle some winter weather. Otherwise pleased with 'round town and highway performance out the gate...

The outside of the frame and other components aren't so bad, only in the welds and a couple other places. But I am concerned with getting inside those frame rails.

Eastwood makes an internal frame coating that comes with a hose that you stick inside and spray. I haven't used it yet, but have planned on using it eventually.

Years ago when the big taco frame recall happened I had a 2003 mine checked out ok but the did same thing with what the guy told me basically paraffin wax went back to pick my truck up and it looked like a kinky wax melting party had gone on under it [emoji12]had little puddles where ever it could drop out still miss that truck.

Upgraded my roof rack

I thought I was the only one who's done this! I've put Christmas lights on the Runner for the past 10 years, didn't have a chance to do it this year. Have you ever been pulled over by the police yet? I haven't, and I've even driven by the CHP, the Sheriff and local police cars.

Haven't had a problem this year or last with them. They aren't super bright and they don't flash, I'm not expecting a problem.

Over the summer I also ran a 3' American flag from the trailer hitch that semi-blocked center brake light, didn't have a problem with that either (one officer even gave me the nod and a wave :bump2 Passed dozens of officers w/out issues with it. (I even ran a 5' one for a week w/out issue, and that blocked all the brake lights sometimes :shrug

If you guys do this make sure you use NEW OE parts. I learned the hard way and the reman stuff is junk. This time around I did new so hopefully I will get another 160k miles out of it all.

Replaced my transfer case actuator finally. Been dead for a year. Pretty easy job, I am pretty good with working on cars since I used to be a Subaru tech, but I never done a tranfer case before. FIPG is drying and I'll test it our. Only took about 4-5 hours start to finish.
