What did you do with your 4runner today?

Got stuck trying to help a jeep get out of the mud. :frusty:
She's staying the night out there and gonna try to get it out with a Tundra tomorrow before the rain comes in again.
Any tips and tricks to get my 4runner out?
We tried shovels and some scrapwood to no avail.:help:

Gotcha! My 4runner is sunk much more than appears in the video. Would just shoveling be my best bet?

Nope I wouldn't shovel anymore like [MENTION=5374]sparky[/MENTION] said above a much longer tow strap for the Tundra to be atleast on some what solid ground to bite in and yank from the rear or the front it don't matter and you'll be free. Or someone with a winch and you'll be free.

a 30ft snatch strap the pulling vehicle needs to leave slack on it and accelerate for the rubber band effect. while the stuck person hits the gas. May take a few snaps but it should come out

Imagine how a bungie cord works its the same concept the rubber band effect is what pulls you out and limits the effects on the trucks

have any of you guys had a rust/rot issue on the frame like the second gen Tacomas?

No not that I'm aware of or don't remember seeing anything on here. My buddy has a bad ass 2nd gen Taco on 37s and he just got approval from Toyota to get his frame replaced later this year. That's a big job though!

Got my 4runne back today after about 3 weeks of it being with my mom. My wife and I borrowed my mom's CRV for a Christmas trip to Cleveland, OH to see my in-laws. I shampooed the carpet today because my wife accidentally spilled coffee (that had milk in it) all over her and the floor before her night shift 3 weeks ago. It dried and we forgot about it until I got it back and smelled the rancid milk. I have no idea how my mom didn't notice that smell.

dang. I got into an accident with my 4runner on I-81 coming back from JMU for Christmas. All they gave me was a base camry for my rental. Must admit I really liked driving the camry though.

Tundra came to the rescue! Finally got out of the mud!
First attempt actually broke the first strap and it dented the shit out of the tailgate of the tundra :doh:
Oh well. Thanks for all the advice you guys gave me!


Got a shimmy in my steering now at around 50mph>
Gonna hit the self car wash and hope that it's just mud on the inside of the wheel that's the problem.

I started the install for my lift today. Removed the Xreas and coils on the rear so far. Tomorrow I will be taking apart the front, cleaning everything up, then painting. Hopefully I will have time to start on putting the ICON in.

^^^ Dumb question amnesty... Are those 2-tone paint jobs a factory thing or are people professionally getting it done... or is it plastidip? I like it and would love to do it but not sure how it's typically pulled off.

Mine was like the first pic from factory. Not the wheels obviously but the trim was grey. I plasti dipped it and it looks like the second picture. (Matte black caddling now)
