Removed rear mudflaps to Trim

Not sure why these 275s are rubbing so much on the back of the front fenders.

Under $10 for can of spray adhesive.
Big roll of carpet pad, free. 1/4" Felt like stuff.
Actually made it a fair bit quieter.

Started as a wire run to the rear for more lights(orange wire)...you people and your ideas.

Oh that's a great idea, I always hear stuff kicking up in the rear fender wells. Or in the wet I feel like I have a window cracked with how loud I can hear the water back there.

I had the tires rotated and balanced. All 5 inflated to 36 PSI! Sadly it's going to be a while before I get my bigger sneakers. All 4 Hankooks are still at 8/32 and have lots of miles left.

If anyone starts pulling off their rear plastic interior wheel well covers, it is pretty straight forward.
The only thing that was a pain what the little 5 star bag hanger deally-bobber.
Really a simple thing once you know.

Just the interior fender covers.

Detailed the inside and tried to work on some of the small scratches. I think I brought half the beach home with me inside of the 4Runner.

Can anyone recommend a product that will remove some of the scratches? I realize some of them are too deep to just wipe them away, but wanted to try something before paying my buddy to fill them in.

Cut some metal off, banged on the pinch welds for a few minutes, cut about 1.5" off my fenders. Scary stuff...

Zip tied until I can find a better solution.

Yes I've been working on my 4Runner for most of the day. So far today:

- trimmed front fenders
- oil and front/rear diff fluids
- fixed trailer plug (broken wire)


I think I'll go to sleep now and do my spark plugs in the morning. And probably hardwire in my dashcam.

Installed my Xenon Deopt 4300k hids the other night, they are freaking bright! They look a little yellow buy they are pure white on the road. Whenever I drive behind someone now my lights just engulf theirs lol. I also did the squirrel finder mod so there's no glare.
However, I do have a few questions if anyone can answer them. 1st, how are you guy's beam patterns with 06 projectors? I have these weird hotspots and it's very annoying and looks bad. I know these aren't true hid projectors but I expected them to be a little better than this. 2nd, do your guys hids vibrate when you hit a bump while driving? Mine vibrate up and down like they aren't screwed in correctly even though I triple checked. And 3rd, my passanger side looks dimmer than my driver side. It is very slight, but I can tell the difference. Anyone know what's up with them? Thanks in advance

They rubbed at about mid steer on the fender. I could have gotten away with just trimming the flat part of the fender, but figured I might as well do the full deal while I'm in there.


I don't understand why they're rubbing back there so bad. I thought 285s only required removing the mud flap and pushing the front fender liner forward. These are only 275s...

The stock projectors are terrible. Lots of write-ups on how bad they are and what options you have. I too did the HID upgrade as well as got rid of the squirrel finders and that was great but I wanted more. I'm about to do a retrofit upgrade which I'm hoping will really help put some light down the road.

As for the vibrate. Did you actually pull apart your headlight and check? There are 4 screws that hold the projector in place and that could have came loose. I have never had any play in my headlights.
