What did you do with your 4runner today?

Thanks! Alright, I guess I'll just have to deal with it till I do an actual retrofit. I havnt pulled apart my headlight yet because I think it's the way the bulbs themselves screw into the housing. I never had any vibration before, and when I switched to the hid bulbs they vibrated. So I'm thinking it has to be the bulbs. I'll take a look at it again tonight. The headlights themselves don't move so I don't think it's the screws. Also it's not really a vibration, they just shake up and down when I hit bumps. When I'm driving normally they are fine. Thanks again man!

Looks good!

The stock projectors are terrible. Lots of write-ups on how bad they are and what options you have. I too did the HID upgrade as well as got rid of the squirrel finders and that was great but I wanted more. I'm about to do a retrofit upgrade which I'm hoping will really help put some light down the road.

As for the vibrate. Did you actually pull apart your headlight and check? There are 4 screws that hold the projector in place and that could have came loose. I have never had any play in my headlights.

installed my wheelers offroad superbumps

how do you like them? If you can feel them yet.

i can feel them. they do take big bumps like train tracks very well. they do touch at ride height so it does not take much to feel them. does not effect normal ride and i like it. the old bump stops were a pain to take off because i was not able to have them spin by hand at all.

installed them without taking off the tire, just jacked it up a few inches so i could work. ended up cutting an inch off the end of the Allen wrench and put it in a socket and that worked great. the allen wrench is too long to use with how close the lower a arm was

I unhooked my LCA from the lower ball joint and just got the arm out of the way. I had to file down my wrench because the edges were sharp and wouldn't fit in the Allen head bolt. I used a huge pipe wrench to start the OEM bumps off.

i could have taken mine off but really didnt want to mess with all that work. the pipe wrench and some wd40 worked great. cleaned out the threads with the new bolt then put the new ones on in almost no time at all

Restored stock skid plates

Decided to restore my stock skid plates today. Used degreaser, wire wheel, rust/paint remover wheel, paint prep spray, and rust oleum rust reformer. I'm happy with it.

After 21 days on stands, I got her back on the street today. In all, I replaced...

1) Lower Control Arms (to OEM)
2) Outer tie rods (OEM)
3) All brake lines (Stop Tech) Also led to a great bleed/purge.
4) Front shocks (5100's to .85)
5) Rebooted both CVs (OEM kit from Amazon)
6) Rear springs to ICON 2"
7) Differential needle bearing (to ECGS bushing)
8) Replaced FD wheel bearing
9) Replaced rear sway bar links (ones shown here)
10) Drained/filled radiator
11) All seals encountered along the way (OEM)

My initial plan was to recondition my LCAs, but after I tried removing the LBJ under a lot of heat and PB blaster, decided to see how bad the alignment cams were. As I suspected, they were seized and ultimately met Sir Sawzall. The bushings looked pretty bad so, combined with the nature welded LBJs, I abandoned the recondition and went to replace. If anyone out there needs a set of old OEM LCAs to recondition at leisure, drop me a PM. I'll hang on to them for a bit longer before they meet their fate.

I didn't make a good photo documentary along the way, but here's a few pics and the finished product at the end.

Did my plugs today. Had no idea if they had been done yet or not (225k kms). Turns out they had been done.

Had NGKs in both banks. Also discovered that #2 on the right bank was completely loose. Like not even hand tight. So I cleaned up the coil and seals.

Also, did some posing for the camera today. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the pin out of my disconnects, so I didn't get to see the full flex.
