A bull bar?! Hell no, never!
It's a light bar that has 4 tabs on the top/behind the bar for the round lights like you have attached to your bumper and has mounting tabs behind the grill which hold a 32" led light bar. Also good for playing bumper cars (bad for other vehicle), holding my beer when working on rig, towel/rag bar, my daughter uses it as a monkey bar, anchor/tie down point...many uses thus far.
It's made by a member here [MENTION=93512]MojaveMadMan[/MENTION]. Makes like 4 different styles awesome price, but you might wanna hit him up quick cause he's taking a break from it for family time last I'd seen/heard but had a few left.

they dont make that new OME bp51 coilover kit for the 4th gen runner yet do they? I feel like not putting a good quality coilover up front at least is going to take a hit on ride quality. Im willing to spend a little bit of money to do it right the first time...

i would stay away from OME for coilovers as they're new to the game. Id much rather spend my money with King/Fox

Plus theyre quite expensive at $1800 for just the fronts. Id buy King over those any day if nothing else for more available parts.

Installed a second battery utilizing the expedition portal cheap setup. Battery->80 amp fuse->solenoid. I also installed a switch so if I drain the secondary battery, I can leave them isolated before trying to start off the main battery so it doesn't immediately drain once connected.

Decided to give the new suspension I installed a try (Bilstein 5100's, OME885's, MetalTech LT rear coils) and took the Runner to some local trails to stretch her legs. She did great!!! Drove like butter compared to stock. One section of the trail ended up getting blocked by a huge fallen tree which led me to an even better spot with an insane vantage point. So it was a blessing in disguise. You never know where adventure will lead you and what's lying around the corner which is one of the biggest rushes to me when exploring out on the trails. I'm looking forward to some nicer weather in the coming months so I can keep finding new exciting places off the beaten path. Getting away from the rat race for those moments make me truly appreciate life and my surroundings that much more!! Excuse my iPhone pics.... I'd rather spend money on my rig than a new camera yet [emoji13]

Did a tire rotation and check out some things under the truck. Noticed this.. safe to say Xreas is on its final days.

Ive done some suspension research and heres where im at:

Keeping in mind this is my daily driver, I Also offroad in some trails it a few times a year in Rausch creek PA and take it on the beach all summer long. It sees plenty of road salt in the winter living on longisland. I carry a few hundred lbs ( 150- 300) at times in the cargo area but nothing extreme. Looking for blend of ride quality, dependability and offroad performance.

Im either at the full Radflo 2.5 kit front coilovers and rear shocks with springs, with camburg Balljoint UCA's.

Or Radflo 2.5 front coil overs with OME rear shocks and springs? <-- if that works

Open to suggestions.. Ive read and read and read and read.. this is what ive come down too.. :fencing:

With all the road salt, id suggest UCA's that have a BJ cover. ICON is top notch, and the ball joint cover keeps the weather out. Will make them last considerably longer before a rebuild.

Changed the oil and upgraded to ebay 06-09 blackout projectors. Sliced my finger with a razor knife trying to trim a turn signal socket and wound up getting 4 stitches. The headlights look great though.

Tried vinyl wrap for the first time. Thought I'd copy the BRZ interior and cover all the flat black bits in the 4Runner. I'm happy with it, it's better then scuffed raw black plastic. The vinyl is a "gunmetal" but imo very light in color. I would have preferred something darker for more contrast and better match with the seats. I do like the texture though. Best part is that it was super cheap and fun. Work in progress still...

This all looks good, but that shift gate looks awesome! :thumb: I may have to try this out. I know I've got some vinyl wrap in the garage somewhere.

Thanks! The shift gate always collects dirt and looks grimy. I just watched a few videos and had at it.

Finally got my backup camera installed. As with everything, I tried to get a nice, clean look that's equal to OEM.

Oh wait, wrong pic. That one was taken while I was trying out the view from various mounting points. :-D

I ended up mounting it on the bottom of the bumper. Didn't want to drill a huge hole so I used the surface mount option. As for the view, I'm sure it's too low for some but it works well for me, which could be because of the angle and field of view with this particular camera.

I ran the wiring through flexible plastic mill conduit and zip tied it to the trailer wiring. The rubber grommet entering the body is under the driver's side cargo tie-down ring panel near the tailgate. The grommet pulls out easily, so I used an Xacto knife to slice a small slit in the grommet and fed through the conduit. If you keep the opening small enough, it's tight against the conduit but I used some sealer to be on the safe side.

Agreed...I'm painting the letters on the Toyota wordmark grille emblem I plan to use for my Satoshi mod and that's the exact color I chose.
