What did you do with your 4runner today?

Been trying to get to flushing my tranny since christmas. I guess easter was the weekend. Yesterday I took care of it and was surprised at how easy it was. I can say though that after 165k miles my transmission filter still looked good and did not need changed. Hardly any debris in it at all. Honestly the biggest advantage is cleaning out the pan. So I guess I would still recommend spending the the $22 for the filter and gasket, if onky for piece of mind and the ability to get in there and clean out the pan.
I will say one thing though. The filter housing was covered in metal "silt" . I gues it's aluminum body attacks it. I could get the filter apart without breaking out a saw so I gave up.

What year/engine? Any difference post change? I imagine the fluid was pretty brown?
07 v6. I think it shifts smoother. But hard to tell. Yeah it was almost black. I'll post some comparisons soon.

Edit 2. When I went to do the temp Che k the correct way, nothing came out (which is why I expected) so I pumped about 1.25 quarts in until it started to run and then waited for it to tickle to nothing and called it good.

Got my rough country lift on and cleaned her, despite the bad reviews the lift turned out great and rides great. Cant even tell the difference in the rear rocks! Heres a before and after pic, doesnt do it justice at all.

Finally getting around to complete the suspension upgrade. Got the front end done today and hopefully finish the back tomorrow and take it in for alignment.

Went to visit the parents for Easter.
Looked at her and admired her.
Anyway, with tax refunds coming, I've decided to FINALLY get a Porter Cable oribital polisher and coat my retro'ed lights with optilens. Paint has been "dull" since I bought her. It's shiny but has no depth (if that makes sense).
