What did you do with your 4runner today?

Drained/refilled 2q of tranny fluid. Better temps now, and it's gonna need more attention.

Got longer Lexus wheel studs installed on one front wheel so far [emoji28].

Removed sidesteps in prep for CBI sliders this week. Now I have lighted 4R sidesteps and Taco nerf bars just sitting around. House cleaning soon ...

replaced the floor mats with some WeatherTech Floor Liner and gave the engine bay a little bit of cleaning.

Finally had time today to figure out why my VSC lights didn't light up:

Had to do a zero point calibration to get them to shut off. Hopefully that's all the problem was-sad that the dealer I bought the truck from plays games like this.

That is fricken DIRTY!! Mine doesn't come on.. I might have to take a peek.

Dirty indeed. I can't say 100% that it was the selling dealer but in my research I'm fairly certain the original owner of the truck was an old man who went to the dealer fairly regularly for service. I suspect the dealer I bought it from because their idea of "fixing" the exhaust was brazing a coke can to the intermediate pipe and it took almost three months to get the title from them.

What irritates me more is that the lights could have been turned off properly with 5 minutes of research on the internet but they chose instead to disassemble the cluster.

I installed a new Alpine Head Unit & small amp in the 4Runner yesterday.

Massive improvement over the stock sound even with the factory speakers.

Gonna swap the speakers as soon as I find a killer deal on (2) pairs that fit.

put some led in the high beams, they're not meant to be super bright. Just to accent my low beam LED bulbs. Light bar is on the way so that will take place of needing brighter light.
What do y'all think ? What I really want to do is put some Amber ones. But I'm trying out the all white look.

Dropped in a cheap single DIN HU for a temporary stereo setup. Used the Metra 70-8117 bypass harness. Took some time to pull all of the trim, but it was really a cinch to get it all done. Job took 3 hours total. Now I have SD/Aux input, which is really nice... No more cheap cassette tape hangin' out of the dash.

Even without the sub, center speaker and rear tweeters the sound is way better using the amplifier on my cheap HU.

Looking at a Kenwood DPX502BT in the near future with a separate amp setup for a sub.

It's an e-locker housing with a blue torch fab kryptonite weld on diff cover.

Haha One swap a week is enough for me! :hiding: JK but if you were closer i would of been happy to lend a hand! We actually had it a little bit 'easier' because i had everything re built from ECGS so we just pulled out the old and installed the new. Still took use the entire day including about a hour lunch brake and a trip to the store.



Are you re building both your front and rear on your own? That's a little bit of a bigger job! Are you doing a ARB in the rear as well? I wanted to do a ARB originally but i grabbed up my buddies old FJ housing and got a good deal on the FJ 3rd with Elocker so couldn't pass it up and just sent everything to ECGS to be re geared and re built.

What rear housing is that?

It' s a FJ rear housing, Aesthetically it's the same as ours, but i welded up some extra armor on the bottom and a Blue Torch Fab diff skid.
