What did you do with your 4runner today?

Just got home from the maiden voyage since re-gearing to 4.88s and putting in an e-locker in the rear and ARB in the front. It. Is. AWESOME! Cannot wait for our club trail run next weekend. It took six weeks so it was nice to get behind the wheel of the 4Runner again.

Fixed my hood latch release, had to bend the bar back into place to get my hood to open properly. Also sprayed some wd40 on the rear tailgate lifter arms because they were squeaking

Fixed the annoying rattle coming from under the car.
2 bolts that hold the cat heat shield had rusted through as well as the clamp that holds the aft end of the heat shield to the exhaust pipe.

Gotta check that on mine. I had the bolts attaching the heat shields replaced b/c they were rusted to oblivion, causing an annoying rattle. Well, months later, I hear a "different kind" of rattle. Urgh. HATE living in the rust belt

Not yet, I have plans to make a panel across the back window, as well as one that goes from B pillar to B pillar so the front seats doesn't look like I'm hiding anything but the back is all blacked out. I used a roll of plastic plumbing and HVAC hanging material, cut into little tabs to tuck between the headliner and plastic trim panels and will use a section of foam to shove into the sunroof cover pocket to hold the panel between drivers and passengers seat up. Now to learn how to sew...

The body modifications continue.... Damn blinker sockets keep burning out due to water so I decided to turn my lower led lights into turn signals. I will be getting an amber lens for them shortly. I also clipped the drl light so they don't stay on continuously while driving. Unfortunately I had to ditch the fog lights too so I think I'll be be making the it gets cleaned.

cutting down my free bike rack to fit close to the bumper. not shown but the loop thats almost touching the bumper is now bent flat and its getting pushed in more. making a rack i can take 1 bike on the trails with

Installed some (somewhat) cheap LED dome lights from Advanced Auto, and I must criticize Toyota on their design of the back dome light. As soon as I put in the new bulb it slid right past the metal brackets that hold it in and it fell into the body of the car and I had to pop out a piece of the ceiling. At the end Im very pleased with the output of the new LEDs

Not today, but yesterday on the way to work, the bearing in my tensioner pulley locked up! I caught it before my belt snapped, so I pulled into a parking lot and walked the rest of the way to work. I did some research and calling around and no parts store in my town, or surrounding towns, could get the tensioner assembly until today. O'reilly's did some digging and found that the Gates pulley #38001 was the same pulley they used on their assembly, and they had 2 in stock, so I just picked up one of those. When I went to put it on the truck, it didn't fit. It's about 1/2" smaller than the original pulley and wouldn't slide over the tensioner spring. Well, I went back to O'reilly's to exchange the pulley for the right one, but they couldn't find the right size. I guess the Gates assembly isn't exactly like the OEM one. So, I figured let's try to get just the bearing and I'll press it into the OEM pulley. Well, they didn't have it in stock, nor could they find one in their system!

So, what I did was press the bearing out of the Gates pulley and press in into the OEM pulley - and by "press" I mean I heated the pulley up with a butane torch I have and used a 30mm socket and a C-clamp - and everything is good to go now.
