What did you do with your 4runner today?

I was getting some squeaking from my brakes, so I changed the pins, springs, and clips in both front calipers.

These were from the front right side and took a little coaxing to remove.

most important part of a brake job, is new hardware. and cleaning rust where pads meet caliper.

Agreed. Ive only had the vehicle 4 months. The pads look new and the pins that they are supposed to slide on look like they've never been changed..smh
I had to oil them and hammer them out with a punch. The new ones slid right in though.

I didn't even look at the rear's hardware after I did the fronts. I just went inside and ordered a rear hardware kit lol

Replaced the instrument cluster lens (old one was scratched to hell and was tired of looking thru it) and a few hvac bulbs that burnt out. Best $35 and 30 minutes I've spent on it...

Where did you get the plastic from? Part number? The plastic in my wife's 4runner looks like someone took a scotch brite pad to it...

Helped a buddy/co-worker change one of the worst blowouts I've ever seen on his 3rd gen. His factory jack wasn't up to the task, so I brought my floor jack from home. I don't think his spare had ever been out from under the rig.

A little more together than it was yesterday. Torqued down a bunch of stuff I left untorqued so I could do it all at once. Installed the disco endlinks. A little unsure of their install so I'm gonna read into that. Doesn't seem right.

Also installed a curt class 3 receiver.

Replaced both rear calipers and pads. I found a good deal on some re-man'd calipers on sale from advanced auto. The funny part the reman'd calipers were 44 bucks each while the core charge were 70 bucks each.

I bleed the entire system per directions on here and man it worked great and stops awesome and best yet the damn squeak is gone.

My 4runner lived most of its life on the east coast so replacing things as needed, so far all 4 calipers have been replaced.

Just did the first oil change since we got our new to us 2004 4Runner. Hate aftermarket oil filters. I also added a fumoto valve. Love that thing when I change the oil in my Tacoma. Makes it so much easier.
