How did you get such a great fit? Can you do a write-up? I've been wanting to do this since getting my 4Runner.
I have great respect for Toyota but I really don't know what they were thinking with that cargo shelf idea.

You mean the cargo cover? If so can I buy it and the brackets to hold it? Pleeease?
The piece I made is pretty nice. You can hardly feel the little bump. I tried laying in the back already and you can hardly notice it. Specially once a pad is under you too. The chance of me sleeping back there is pretty slim. We camp a lot, but just with our tent.
I'm talking about the deck, but I also do have the cover. Send me a message if you want it. No clue what shipping would cost....

Greased the zerks, front took a lot. Conditioned leather, Aerospace 303'd the door seals (OCDing on new vehicle).
Bought some D-rings for the bed sides - has anybody tried mounting them to the plastic for light duty tiedowns? Or have other methods for better cargo management in the rear?
Noticed the radiator had almost zero insect carcasses embedded in it, previous owner must have had a bra on it with mesh inserts. That's my plan. $180 for top of the line Colgan. Covercraft or LeBra are half that but I know they're not the same quality.

I changed the oil and rotated/balanced the wheels at DT.

Registered at toyota.com with the VIN, pulled the dealer maintenance records, got the Original equipment/options list and the build date.
Build date 6/5/2007 (Tuesday, yay). Options: DRL, sunroof, rear spoiler, front and rear airbags, Valor exhaust tip, JBL Synthesis.
Sold on 9/8/2007. Since November 2011 all four door lock actuators were replaced by the dealer, the front passenger door lock twice, only 100k miles on it to me.
Door lock actuators are about $550 parts/labor at the dealer, and this is why I hate the automatic locking and unlocking "feature".

Finished up my drawers and removable sleeping platform. I need occasional use of my back seats so I built a removable platform.
The forward end sits on a pair of vertical 2x4s.
The rearward end connects to the back of my drawer box with a French cleat.
Quality control says head room does not meet expectations.

First I came off of a huuuuuge rock and did this-
Which doesn't look as bad as it is because of this-
Held together by one little zip tie .
Then at another spot along the way, where there just happened to be another huuuuuuge rock I was thankful for my sliders-
Squeezed by another car sized rock and came out of it with only this-
It's a good thing I got my skid plates ordered this last week. I don't know how much more the gas tank skid is gonna hang on-
It was a great day on the trails though. Not sure how some of you guys keep them so pretty
