What did you do with your 4runner today?

Problem: the rubber bottom of the original 2005 cargo mat with the 4Runner logo had deteriorated to the point that it would continually release small particles that had to be vacuumed, so I got rid of it.



Use case: light duty - keep things from sliding around in the trunk. (I always keep the double decker in the down position.)



3mm 68" by 24" yoga mat from Walmart:

Cut in two 34" halves, then trim each half to required 20.75" width. Cut resulting strips to 20.75" length. Put everything together with duct tape like so:

Works well so far; everything stays put again.

A new OEM carpet is like 50 bucks.

Got this Runner

Im a day late in posting, But drove to Rocklin CA yesturday and picked up this Runner.

2006 V6 Sport Edition 111K miles. And drove it back home..

Loaded bike

Loaded my bike into my inside bike mount and headed to a local bike trail(paved) and rode 10 miles in, then ten miles back. 20miles in about 2 hrs, not bad. Forgot my camera and dont take my cell sometimes(due to its camera sucks any how)

So, after a bit of a fight getting the stock skids straightened out so I could access bolts and having to grind some of the bolts so I could get a socket on them, I ran a tap through the holes to clean them up and get them ready for the new skids. I gathered up the instructions for all of the new skids to read through so I knew what I needed to do ahead of time. I found that there were still four bolts to be removed for the transmission and transfer case skids so I crawled under the 4Runner to take them out. First one comes out no problem. Second one- about 2/3 of the way before snapping off. Damn. So now I'm gonna have to take off the tubes that protect the catalytic converter so I can drill this thing out. Put my socket wrench on and the head pops off after what could have only been 5 in/lbs of torque. DAMN. Last bolt holding this thing on- snap. DAAAMN. Those last two were rusted so bad that they were maybe only half the size that they were supposed to be. Soooo not happy at this point. So I spray the other side down with PB Blaster so it can work it's magic and get to installing some skids. I get the gas tank skid in and figure I'll try and see if I can get the bolts for the other side out. Socket is on- gentle- I feel it start to break loose- snap. Lord Of All Things Holy!!! I had to walk away for the day. And I'm leaving it alone today. Maybe tomorrow I will be able to drill them all out and get something to work for me. The installed skids look great though.

Had a friend help me put on new suspension on my 06 limited! I just moved to Colorado 3 days ago but ive had the parts for a few weeks so I was jonesin' to get it on.

Next up is 285 duratracs and SCS ray10s that are getting put on on saturday. Were going wheelin after so ill get some pics of it on the trail, for now enjoy my street queen [emoji13]

Took the boat out for the weekend. Forgot my regular non-drop hitch so had to use my 3 inch drop, still pulled fine just a little lower in the back.

This is actually over the past few weeks as time has allowed

Replaced headlight assembles with sport ones
Removed side badges
Added roof rack and low profile mounts

Much needed clay bar and wax
Added stickers for speed
Plastidipped rear badges. Removing eventually because I'm not 100% happy with them.

Sold my daily driver so am back into the 4Runner full time. Figured on this extended weekend to do a deep interior and exterior clean. Foamed and polished the outside. Deep cleaned with detail brushes and a shop vac on the inside. Even removed the center console since I hadn't done that in years. Like driving a new car. :banana:

Me likey. Ordered both that spider net and the envelope net by the rear hatch. PT347-89030 and PT347-89102.

Those two solve some issues - spider up top will hold umbrella, poncho, raincoat, hoodie, longjohns, whatever.

I'm still thinking about screwing some D-rings into the rear side panels to secure Rubbermaid storage bins. Good idea, bad idea?

Coming from a Tundra with a topper I'm trying to figure the best load management techniques since this will be our two adults and a dog camping and towing vehicle.

Imagine how difficult it was to cut those roads. Every time I go up by the Divide I think they must have been some tough, tough people to build roads, build reservoirs, dig tunnels way back in the 1870's-1920's. A place I like, Rollins Pass, those oldtimers built a railroad over that beast the railbed is a road now but the tunnel they blasted is closed. My buddy with a metal detector found a weather vane buried 6" deep at about 11000 ft. They must have had a base camp there for the engineers and when they were done they didn't pack it back.

Thankfully no one was hurt, hook needs to be repainted and plastidip touched up, the Tacoma though may need a little extra buffing. Stay safe out there

Got my set of FJ wheels mounted, sits pretty much flush. Fixed the issue I had with frame rub after moving to 265/70.

In other news, I have a set of 5 stock wheels if anybody is looking in the Seattle area.
