Looking good sir... very clean. keep goin!

I'm not too keen on cutting up the frame just to get that extra 2.5" of track width, anyone want a set of (4) installed only spacers?

As for the sockets, it's been pretty dry here in San Diego since I've owned the truck, but it was an AZ vehicle before I picked it up. Might have a few seasons of monsoons under its belt that could be the cause.

How much do you want for the spacers?

OBX, 4WD required. First time here, my 4Runner hasn't even blinked. Love this.

Timing belt job. I must say, out of all the vehicles I have ever done, this 4r v8 is the most time consuming job ever. And to top it off ,rust and rusty bolts had add another 4 hours to it. Never again.

Be thankful you don't have to do it on something like this (my 3000GT). This is the reason I bought a V6 4 Runner instead of a V8. Notice the timing covers on the right side. It's a DOHC V6. Pulling the engine is the easiest way to do the timing belt because of how tight the workspace is.

I was happy to pay the dealership to do the 4.7 timing belt/water pump on the Tundra. My mechanic didn't even want to do it in my garage, and all he has to do is walk across the street. He wanted $1000, thereby pricing himself out of the competition.

The easiest timing belt change I've done is the sweet straight-six 3.0 liter Toyota 2JZ-GE in a Lexus GS300. That I6 was such a sweet engine.

Interestingly, the truck 4.7l was originally a Lexus engine, the all aluminum 4.0l 1UZ-FE Lexus put into the GS400. The truck 4.7 2UZ-FE with iron block is a stout motor, love them.

What makes the timing belt jobs on these so difficult? Is it that it's DOHC? It seems like it's in a fairly easy-to-get-to spot

Adjusted coilovers some more, getting picky now. I'm going to pull all the camber out of the SPC upper control arms (max positive) before taking it to get aligned again too.

And installed some Wheelers Superbumps. Pretty easy to do after some of the horror stories I've read other guys getting into. I soaked the threads on the back side of the stock bumps with PB blaster, got a big pipe wrench to fit over the hex on the stock bumps and simply spun them off. For the new bumps, first thing I did was cut the long end of the provided 8mm allen key down so that it was the same length as the depth of the hole in the middle of the Superbump. A little loctite and threaded them in with clearance from the LCA while jacked up with the weight off the wheel. No comments on their effectiveness since I didn't hit them hard enough on my commute to work today.

Was in Telluride at the beginning of this month...LOVED it. Absolutely gorgeous. Wish I had a CX bike instead of a road bike at the time so I could have biked up to Veil Falls. Nice pics and 4R!

Purchased this 2003 v8 sport edition with 147,000 miles this week. Seems to be in good shape other than the drive line clunk. Replaced my recently totaled 2005 v8 sport (RIP)
