Mine don't seem to go that far out, but I wouldn't mind the outside holes aiming a little higher. Thanks for the tip!

Yes tsxr lense. Stock shield, I was pressing for time as I didn't have time to tweak a curve shield. Need to get it ready for road trip. My previous 5th gen 4Runner had the curve shield and it was out of this world.

Didn't do anything to the 4Runner. Was "planning" to drive it to the beach and do some camping for my 30th Birthday when I was surprised with a trip back home in Hackensack, MN aka my heaven on earth. I love it here and lucky to have a girlfriend pull off a great surprise birthday.

So I dropped it off to my mechanic on Friday for him to install my new UCAs. He had made an appointment for today at an alignment shop to get it aligned. So I don't hear from him Friday and can't get a hold of him so I assume he was just going to keep it all weekend. I hadn't planned on that, but whatever. It's afternoon on Monday and I still can't get a hold of him so I call the alignment shop. They say they haven't seen it at all. AHHHHHHHHHH :uzi:
Finally I get a hold of my mechanic, "Oh yea I haven't gotten any of it done." Apparently there's some big bolt that holds the UCA to the frame that's rusted solid and he'll have to cut it off and order new bolts and he said he left me messages to ask if I wanted him to do that. Apparently he was calling the wrong number the whole time. He had it from Friday through Monday for nothing.

Nice 4Runner, and welcome to the forum.
If you ever wanna wheel with other members out on the trails and check out their rigs in action and see what else your 4Runner is capable of ...you should visit the SoCal section it's very active and we have monthly meets & runs we do at different locations throughout SoCal the turnouts are huge from 25 - 40 rigs everytime and they are all a great group of people. There you can also see all the previous months runs we have done with pics and vids.

Any rubbing? I was planning on getting these same tires in the exact sizing and load rating. It was either the Ridge Grapplers or the Cooper ST Maxx in 255/80/17.

Installed new brakes, rotors and and replaced a frozen caliper on Sunday. When removing the lower caliper bolt connected to the steering knuckle the head snapped off. Turned a two hour project into a much longer ordeal. Split the old caliper to remove, tried penetrating oil, torched the bolt, used a vice, hammer, extraction tool etc., to no avail. Carefully split the new caliper to install over the bolt head, and took it to a mechanic yesterday.
They had to drill it out and make new threads. $145 bill to remove a bolt and install a new one. Really not a bad price as they had to split the caliper, get it sealed, bleed the brake in addition to torching, drilling and making new threads.
Annoyed at the previous owner or his/her mechanic for crossthreading a bolt!
On the plus side, I got rid of a seized caliper and now have strong, smooth braking, and I still saved a ton vs having a mechanic do the caliper/pads/rotor and bleed.

I am new here and to owning a 4 X 4. We are leaving in two days for a long weekend of camping in the Steens Wilderness Area. I've had my 4Runner for just over a month and we've been so busy getting the youngest off to college, that I haven't yet stocked it with emergency supplies. The only thing I want to keep from my old minivan is the very good set of jumper cables and a heavy duty knife with glass breaker. My project for today and tomorrow has been to track down what I need and figure out how to store and secure everything.
We've been in the area before and know with the obsidian in the roads and the remoteness that we need to be prepared.
I've been going through old threads here, but would appreciate any suggestions.
