The 5th gen:
Killer pics and thanks for sharing. Just wondering, but was this the 5th gen that recently sold in the classifieds on here?

I drove it for the second time and drove it for the first time alone 
I quickly realized that superflex springs and 5100's are a bad combo. I couldn't even stand driving it around town.
Sooo i went ahead and dumped in:
Fox shocks
Spc trail arms
Skyjacker end links
Energy bushings for the rear uppers
Prothane bushings for the rear sway
RCI skid plates for the trail arms
So yeah im eating bread and water for awhile, but man my runner feels (and looks!) good.

So you mounted the resi's behind the shock body? I'm fighting the ebrake cable bumping mine on compression no matter where I bend that bracket. They don't hit axle if mounted on the back of the shock body? Big upgrade by the way!I quickly realized that superflex springs and 5100's are a bad combo. Well to be honest *I* didnt do any of the install. I took it to a local 4wd shop i trust, so hopefully the way they mounted it works out. I literally got my truck back from them like an hour ago so ive just been street cruisin, i still need to do some front end work before i hit the trails. When i do i will let you know if i come across any problems.
Btw, nice runner. mine and yours are kinda similar..

Just dropping in. It's thanksgiving break, so I can finally take a quick breather from school. It's been really busy this semester, so not much has happened with the 4Runner. In fact, the Runner has been parked for the last week or so because I've been driving my new-to-me daily (those MGPs tho). Here's a couple pictures of each, just so I can prove that I've been active on here at least once this semester :typing:

I know this mod is relatively easy, but do you think that the brackets are worth $60?
I've got a welder, and with some time, I think I could make something really close... Would help if I had a pattern to copy, but I'm not afraid to make them myself.. Just going to be more difficult to make them matching since they're essentially one-offs...
They are very heavy duty, and the angles are tricky, but you could do it. It would cost you several hours of time though, and material which would be minimal. The brackets are also powder coated. In the end you won't be saving anything really. I drilled another hole in mine and put my offroad flag on it when at the park. Holds it without issue.

Been traveling and filming a lot, so I haven't had a ton of time to work on the 4Runner, but I found some time to put this little year in review together featuring the 4Runner and some of the off-roading trips we did
