OR'd the trailer onto BLM land, unhooked, went to town got 45 gallons of water in the bladder, filled 3 LP tanks, bought four ribeyes, six lbs of chuck, green onions, green peppers, serranos, pinto beans, four 9-paks of 16oz Miller Lite. Yeah, we're set for a week.

Ordered URDs MAF sensor calibrator. That completes my ordering of performance mods. Planning to install the following shortly:

AFE cold air intake
Doug thorley headers
2 high flow metallic cats
Custom y pipe and remove the second two cats
MAF calibrator

Hopefully I'll notice some improved performance out of my V8.

Installed a Cobra 75wx cb radio and firestik. I ordered an antenna mount on amazon but it didn't work out, so I just zip tired it to my rack. Think I'm going to get a lip mount comet rs720 or attach it to my ladder when I get my roof rack. It worked decent for anyone in front of me.

The processor is tiny, so i tucked it under the seat.

Have you seen the CBI antenna bracket for 4th gens? An option that might be a touch cleaner than zip ties?

Went and bought a shifter interlock cover cause I somehow broke mine and that little hole being exposed would drive me insane. While at the dealership I discovered there were two used trd pro 5th gens. I then proceeded to go through various scenarios in my head about how I could justify buying and comfortably pay for one...I came up with nothing [emoji853]

4th gen? What was the part number on that shifter cap? Mine went missing a while back and it's making me kinda crazy

I'm not a CB expert, but everything I have read suggests the antenna tip of antenna should be above the roof line and with as much open space around antenna as possible. I would think on the hood "might" be better than on rear bumper, but prob no difference if mounted on the front bumper.

Yes it has to be above the roof line, otherwise the metal in the vehicle will wreak havoc with the reception. As far above the roof line as possible is the best bet.

As the 4runner is not as tall as the old 70's vans, you won't hit the top of a bridge (most bridges anyway on highways) or toll plazas. Years ago our van's cb antenna would hit the top of the toll plaza. No damage as its flexible.

I have never used chains. I carry them for the insurance that they require them during a trip or something but I have never had to use them.
