What did you do with your 4runner today?

Picked up a 60" Go Rhino Safari rack this morning. Installed some door edge protectors because I park in a garage at work with crazy people who think the parking lines are mere suggestions. This week I finished up new speaker wiring in front/rear doors and mounted new speakers. Wired up the amp and sub and backup cam. Ripped out the old stock JBL box/amp for a future project. And replaced all the dead lights in the dash and console. Oh, and picked up some FJ rear springs that were nearby. It's been a productive week! Now for the HU on Monday so I can actually listen to music again.

I ordered the side exit Gibson stainless steel cat back exhaust for my V6 SR5 today from Jason @ Burtman Industries. Once I finish my workday, I'm loading up the cargo area with my cornfed lift, jack, jackstands, and tools for tomorrow's lift project at my brother inlaws shop. I have that little kid excitement thing going on!:bluejump:

Not sure. I reached out to a local dyno shop and haven't heard back. I even just want to do a before and after. Depends on price though.
Still waiting for my fedex duties bill from the headers...

I purchased some replacement headlamps from carid and I did not like em. Plus I had the same problem that others did with the plastic mount that holds the screw for the lower trim. It is poorly made and spins making it hard to install. I returned it as a defective product. Spyker said I was installing it incorrectly so I sent them a video of the problem and they had nothing to say. They authorized the rma.
Anyways so I decided to polish the oem headlamps myself. Bought the mothers version and less than 30 mins later I had one side complete. Didn't have a chance to do the other side yet lol. Atleast it makes for a good comparison photo. I'll do my fogs too. Works awesome. I'm going to hit it with some clear uv spray to protect it too.
Oh yeh and those who flamed me for putting hids in reflectors I moved em to my fogs for now.
Going to do a projector retrofit. Found some $50 projectors that got decent ratings at TRS. When I get bored I'll install em.

Replied to a thread on the "how to transport a Xmas tree" topic so I figured I'd share my idea over here with the 4th Gen guys, since that is what I own after all!
Buy a full/queen size mattress bag/cover at lowes/home depot and put the tree in the bag, then put the whole bag in the back of your rig. Then no needles to worry about anywhere inside or out (or scratches). It also helps big time bringing it into the house this way. Then save the bag and use it after the season to take it out of the house and bring it to the dump or wherever you dispose of it. Done it this way for years and it works like a charm!
Disclaimer: due to the extensive nature of this "mod", I can only verify that it works on my 08. YMMV......

wash the area with some IPA. and see if the hazing comes back. you don't want fillers to make you think the job is done
For me: I changed both my rear brake lights, one of the lights was out. Took about 10 minutes.

Swapped the white 2WD one (see sig pic) for a silver 4WD one. Both are '06 Sport Editions. Suspension and new headunit have been ordered. This one is going to built up shortly as a daily driver with overlanding capabilities.
It is So. Damn. Weird. driving the same vehicle yet not quite the same.
Gotta get me some new wheels now . . .

My brother inlaw, best buddy, my 4(and a half) year old son(he makes sure he puts the "half" on his age) and I installed my Cornfed 2/1 lift, and new struts n springs today.
The conditions here in NJ were not ideal wrenching weather, but we got the job done! There were some frozen bolts, a trip to the parts store, and a few other speed bumps that added to our time. Start to finish, with lunch break and trip to parts store took 8 hours total. My road queen rides awesome on the road! Dare i say better than before?
I will get a pic in the daylight tomorrow.
Tires, powdercoat stock rims, spydertrax, are in the near future.
