Those Pelfreybilt bumpers are nice, but that center hoop is way to high considering the lines of the grill.

Went off-roading for the first time. Went out to Borrego and Ocotillo Wells with two friends, one in an '05 4Runner and the other in a Jeep. Started mellow, then did Calcite Mine Trail where I got to experience getting crossed up and lifting wheels and then went and played in the mud. All in all, a great day!!
On Calcite Mine Trail:

We ended up with going up a wash that steadily deteriorated into a mud bog, not good. Almost got stuck, but managed to turn around. I'm going to have to break out the new pressure washer tomorrow to clean the truck up.

3 was a really good sized group. I wouldn't want to have more vehicles on Calcite Mine trail.
At the very beginning of the day, we saw another group of 6 or 7 rigs. They followed us out the the overlook. Other than that, we did not see another rig the entire day. We saw two dirt bikes out by Pumpkin Patch, but that was it.

I think its good to keep the groups to 3 or less in general. I am getting kind of annoyed going out there these days and getting stuck behind or waiting for these huge groups to pass through. I feel like the last 5-10 years have been ridiculous like people just now found out Anza Borrego existed or something. Unfortunately it will probably only get worse. More rigs = more closures. ;(

Well don't you think it kinda depends on the group? If they're responsible trail stewards and respect others on the trail then closures are somewhat irrelevant right? Traffic is another story though. Not everyone has been in SD for their whole life so yes, Anza is new to them. The reason I'm saying anything is because myself and [MENTION=117408]Oneluv13T4R[/MENTION] just led a large group through a good majority of the park last week. Most of them had never been so it was a good opportunity to teach them what to do and what not to do in the park, instead of someone ruining it for everyone else( I.e. Driving on closed roads etc). We as trail leader essentialy held their hand and all was good.....
Now a large group with no experience in Anza is definitely asking for trouble.
So to ensure it won't get any worse we need to educate people on the trail and show them the right way right?

To each their own. It is a little bit high, but still looks great. probably only an inch or 2 higher than your shockworks. I love the way it turned out
I have seen several trucks and jeeps with it done by my house and have had in on for a couple years that have held up great
thanks... ummm.. its the stock side steps. gonna get sliders soon. Just couldn't fork out another $1000 out quite yet..

That hoop does make my semi-OCD pop though. Doesn't follow the lines of the 4Runner. Aside from that the 4Runner is looking good.

Tried changing the front diff fluid and despite the skid plates came off without drama, and weren't too rusted, the filler plug instantly rounded.
The next step will be soaking it in PB blaster for a while followed by some more drastic options.
