What did you do with your 4runner today?

Where did you find a complete set in CO? I have been looking for awhile. I came across a great deal on a trail wheel and tire set, so I pulled the trigger on those.

I just happened to be looking on Craigslist this morning and saw the post of the wheels on there from a person in Golden! I got lucky for sure. I wanted a fifth one for a spare so I'll probably end up going on EBay, there's a bunch on there. Just not full sets!

Wired up some LED strips to replace the puddle lights that came off with the stock running boards.

What lights did you use to do this. Been wanting to do it for a while now.

I know the Limiteds stock have that running board lights, but was trying to find some old threads referencing that even though I have an SR5 the wires are still under there. Do you know if this is true? And second the other comment of what you used for lights?

Looks damn good they should just make a full Bumper version I'm sure it would sell. Today i washed her and took the front bumper off in preparation for my demello 3 hoop :hungry: So heres a pic with no front bumper.

Search Amazon for COB LED daytime running lights. They are little strips that claim to be waterproof. Their "aluminum housing" is a joke of foil around the outer edge but for $12 for the whole project I can't complain. We'll see how long they last and if the non-3m double sided tape stays. I had to resolder one of the power wires to one lights from pulling the wire too tight, but cleaned surface area with IPA, heated surface and tape then stuck, they seem pretty solid but also used the old bolts from factory running boards to pinch them down so they don't fall off if tape fails.

I have a limited so it just had the wires, no idea on other models. There's a 2" rubber boot that comes out right under the B pillar with the wires so if that's not there I suspect you'd have to tap into the right wires running the length of the cab down the rocker. I'm sure there's wires in there for illumination. Other option is to power your rock lights separately and just use a dome light to trigger a relay to turn the rock lights on. Could even add a switch and diode for a switched on option too.

This weekend I conducted the following:

Install 255/75/17 Duratracs
Replace frozen drvr frnt caliper
new pads/rotors on the front
Bled the lines
oil change (700 miles or so over):flamethrwoer2:
removed front mud flaps (rubbing)

Suspension and CB on the way!

Also, rust is a ***** folks, so always pre-soak with PB Blast before starting :nod:

He is. This was just an update on its way to completion. Should have the hoops on today for final approval before sending it to powder coat.

Put a rotating sprinkler under it to loosen up the AZ mud accumulated over the winter, as suggested. Moved it around with a mop handle periodically then took it to the carwash to get the last bits off. I'll crawl under it tomorrow with the hose and see if I can flush out any dirt in the frame rails.

The Meguiar's NXT Gen 2.0 wax held up very well, applied last November, only had access to a crappy carwash over the winter, didn't even have soap, basically just rinsed off mud splatter. After a hand wash it still beads nicely.

Got my suspension upgrade installed - Fox 2.5 Coilovers with Wheeler's T12 and Fox 2.0 in the rear. I've only put a few miles on it so far, but am very impressed with how it rides.
CV angle looks pretty good, too.

Left the 4th Gen at home for a trip to California and rented a 5th Gen Limited to see if I would like it. I definitely miss the power of the v8 but woe these are nice

If I got one it would be a TRD but the limited was great.

What system did you use?

I need to do this to mine.

I did it the lazy way. Left the calipers on. Dremel + sand paper. Sprayed it with 3 coats of Rustoleum engine enamel.

We'll see how long til it peels.
