What did you do with your 4runner today?

How many cans did you use and how many coats?

Yep sparky nailed it. I got 4 cans, did 4 coats of black each, and did 3 coats of matte clear on top. You could probably get away with using 3 cans because I have plenty left over.

I really do suggest clear coating though. It feels much more durable than just the plasti dip alone.

Clear coat or pic another color and paint over it. Both really do well on the dip and holds great!

Put my new jack and stands to work to hit all 6 driveshaft/u-joint zerks with some pink Mobil1 grease. I read differing opinions on slide yoke (driveshaft) amounts, i went until it started to move then it came out the end so I probably overdid it. But it was coming out, and when I dropped back on the ground more came out. Slow test drive around the neighborhood and over bumps, a little more came out, think it's fine. And...

MY STOP SIGN THUMPS ARE GONE!!!!!!...for now.

Took advantage of the somewhat warmer weather today got a few things done.
- New cabin filter
- Cut and trimmed wheel wells to eliminate current and prevent future rubbing
- New turn signal and DRL housings
- Rigid dually fog lights with 3d printed inserts- Thanks [MENTION=100305]TiN[/MENTION] - still need to wire them in
- Fixed the only squeak ive been chasing for over a year that my truck makes going down the road with a zip tie, which in the inner fender well where the fender attaches to the body.

Rebuilt my bumper and shed about 45-50lbs, just needs to be removed one more time to paint

Started the important stuff today, between rain showers. Ran the sat antenna from the rear, moved the dac and cl switches around. Started preparing to rewire the center console in prep for a new head unit....and the skies opened up.

It's a good start, though the Christmas tree dash this morning was a bit startling. Just her way of saying I need a new gas cap.

Off to a good start.

Still need a dry day to jack it up and find the heat shield that's rattling around.:tape:

New Tires and new to me wheels

I found some Tacoma wheels 2 months ago and after a month of cleaning and deciding on tire sizes, i finally had them mounted yesterday and i couldn't be more happier. Thanks to everyone who gave me their opinion on the tire sizes and how they have worked out for them. I ended up going with a Michelin 265/70/17. Next will be the Tundra Brake Upgrade. Once i have a chance to clean her up, i will get some better pics. This was a quick phone pic after cleaning the blue off white letters and before the rain came.

Plasti dipped my roof rails from stock silver to black. Matches with the black paint. 2 cans used. 6-8 coats top and bottom. Hopefully it holds up.

There is literally no comparison and I had decent LED bulbs in the stock housings. They are so bright infact it might be an issue driving around normally with them on. lol

Changed oil, conventional 5w-30 with a BG's MOA addition and a Toyota filter. Also changed all the gear oils with regular 75w-90 with a BG's MGC in each case.

Did a oil change just to find out the wife accidently had it in 4x4 mode driving it home today and blew the front axle. Brand new cv axles lest than a month old and the driver side is loose as hell and its leaking oil out from both side
I never had a idiot do this to a 4x4 so im in the blind here. Hoping new axles and seal will fix it. Any advice pleae give me. I had 4x4 my whole lift but never had this happen

Driving in 4x4 with the center diff unlocked did not cause your axles to fall apart. Did you use OEM?

Yes. Got them from pepboys axles only a month old with 1.2k on them
