What did you do with your 4runner today?

Had a fantastic 3 day weekend in Steamboat Springs. Will absolutely have to visit again. Although the snow wasn't great I still got in some great skiing and hiking.

NICE!

Not sure if you realized it but you picked up a doughnut eating, beer drinking hitch hiker on your front bumper!!!

Update: you guys said hammer out old shock bushings. Bingo! It worked. Got the rear shocks on. Now my final dumb question. How does the hardware go on the Bilstein shock? See pictures, thanks.

Pic 2 u want the bushings sandwiched... And why do u have such little threads left did you tighten and install that correctly? It may be a lock nut but I'd be worried with that little of threads. Might wanna use some loctite

Really wanting to add a leveling kit, how much do you think I need?

I was thinking 3 inches in the front and 1.5 in the rear. I don't know much about leveling kits or what's involved. Here is how I sit now you can see the lean. Or spacers maybe?

I swapped out a dead original TPMS sensor with a newer PMV-107J (Denso 550-0103) unit. I broke the bead with my floor jack and some straps and programmed in the new sensor ID using Techstream and a cheap miniVCI cable from Amazon ... finally that annoying flashing light is gone!:sniper:

Sorry, no pics. Upload speeds suck here. In the last two days I...

Swapped a K&N CAI to back to OEM.

Replaced Parking light bulbs.

Put on new Tires and wheels (Black Level 8's with 255/75r17 Duratracs.)

Seafoamed the crank, tank, and intake.

Replaced a wheel bearing.

Replaced fender liners.

Removed UCA's (JBA Offroads show up tomorrow.)

Not bad considering I only have from 8:30pm-12:00pm to wrench.

K&N CAI and 275/70r18 Duratracs on BBS RW-T wheels for sale soon.

I was wondering to myself the same thing. I have been checking the threads a couple times this past week to make sure the locknut wasn't creeping up on them. You think I should tighten the locknut down some more? I wasn't sure how far I should squish those bushings down.

Don't squish too far, there's a torque spec, or "couple threads showing" too far and you'll just deform that bushing and it'll split apart prematurely.

need help

I have an 07 4runner, v8 4.7 motor. For the past couple of days when i'm driving and go to hit the breaks the rmps will jump and drop the level out. I have no codes coming up on the dash. Ive cleaned out the throttle body and it still does it. I can be going 45 and set the cruse and it will jump from 2k rmp to 2,500 then down to 1500 and back to 2k. When I crank it up, it use to idle at 500 to 700, now when I crank it up it jumps to 2k and will slowly drop to 1200 but won't go below that and it will bounce up and down a few 100 rmps just sitting there. Does anyone know what this could be?

Have you done any work on your runner in the past few days?

A year or two ago, I got a bad tank of gas and mine ran like shit. I was only getting about 14 mpg on the freeway, rough idle etc. Someone on here suggested it might be bad gas, so I filled up with Chevron premium and that fixed it immediately. Just a thought.

Reattached one of my rubber fender liners that has been off for weeks. Took forever to figure out which size clip to fake it with.

More PB Blaster more torch more profanity more BFH. Alignment cam bolts still seized after a week of PB Blaster every day.

Time for Mr sawzall and new bushings on the front of each LCA

Thanx Toyota for not using 25 cents worth of anti seize

That sux, been there! You think profanity and BFH now. Just wait till you have to remove the bushing from the LCA. It gets worse, did for me anyway!
