Hey guys, I have a squirrel problem. This large wiring harness got chewed up, and now the truck won't start. This is the harness that runs from under hood fuse panel, to the inside fuse panel under driver side kick panel. We stuck a harness in from salvage yard, but still have no fire to truck.

Engines, transmissions, dash, etc, all gone. Surprised/not surprised at how quickly they were scavenged.

I know its absolutely crazy at how fast Toyotas Get picked apart at "pick n pull"
but I do know that some of those guys out there have connections within the company and know its coming before others. Thats basically their job to snach up all the parts.... Bastards. :sniper:

A couple weeks ago I switched out my devil horn emblem and bought a cheap new grille from ebay and it was awful. Didn't fit right, was cheap flimsy plastic.

Purchased a new OEM one from Concielli and love it. Now deciding if I should Plasti-Dip it again or keep it silver.

New OME lift kit installed along with Cooper Discoverer AT/3's in 265/70-17.

I'll be putting on some N-Fab running boards next week.

Drain and refill with shudder stop due to the rumble strip issue. I'm just shy of 130k on my 2007.

Planning on it. I'll do another 4 qts next week while I'm on vacation. Not gonna lie, I'm hard on my rig, but even I didn't expect it to be that bad. I've only had it since 87k though, so I have no idea how hard the previous owners drove it.

Lifted finally

Put Bilstein 5100's and FJ springs on front and rear and finally get to see this thing lifted. Love how it drives. They're at the .85 setting and there's still a touch of rake, but when I load it down and pull a trailer to FJ it will be just about perfect.

Hmmm....this week

So far this week I got a new actuator so I'll have 4Hi/Lo/Lock back again. In prep for the installation I went ahead and refilled both diffs and lubed up both driveshafts since the truck is already up in the air.

Since the Tcase nearly crushed me on the way out I figured getting it back in was going to be impossible without some help. Taking the lead from another forum member I built a "cradle" to go on my floor jack. Luckily it appears that the chunk of metal (harmonic dampener??) acts like a "foot" and keeps the t-case at about the right angle. A chunk of 2x12 is the base along with another chunk of 2x screwed in place to hold up the front end. I added a couple of lag bolts to attach a tiedown strap and a single bolt lines up with one of the holes in the tcase "skid plate" to keep it from sliding around.

Lastly, I'm sick of plugging my phone into the lighter port to charge so I got a dual 2.1A USB port that replaces one of the center console switches. That will go in this weekend while I'm still waiting on parts.

I've been digging through the lift thread trying to figure out what wheel/tire/lift combo might be on the horizon. No rock crawling but a little lift for looks and some extra ground clearance never hurts.

Gedtting close to finishing my rear swing-out bumper build

I'm making progress on my rear bumper build. The supports are all done and now I am trying to fit the side pieces to the bumper so they integrate with the plastic surround. I trimmed the surround to give more ground clearance. I'm not looking to win any cosmetic prizes with this build, just want a functional bumper with more clearance that doesn't look too gaudy.
Here is a pic of the side metal that will fit under the plastic surround. Just primered it.

Got the swing arms all lined up

I still have to make a bumper that will keep the swing arms from opening too wide. It will fit under the plastic surround

Trial fitting the side pieces. I will update my build thread in a few days with more details.

Picked up some 5th gen trail wheels for $200! Now to decide what to wrap them in... Ko2 again (not all that impressed with them currently), the Ridge Grappler, or some St MAXX...Thinking Ridge Grappler because I can get a C rated tire

I highly recommend General Grabber AT2s. I love mine.

I'm currently on my second set. The first set, I bought used. Even when they were down to the wear bars they still had good traction in snow and rain. My fresh set has amazing traction in mud (haven't been able to test em in snow yet). They crawled me right up a steep dirt/mud trail without skipping a beat. Guy in front of me (in a 4th gen 4 Runner, as well) on KO2s was slipping all over the place.

Tried to snug down this loose humpback spoiler on the '08 Limited I bought. I popped the rubber plugs on the tailgate, there's two with 10mm bolts underneath. No go, they were tight.

I pulled the tailgate struts to see if there were bolts underneath them, nope.

The spoiler is damaged, has a hole in it above the 3rd brake light. Looks like it got backed into a tree. The PO probably tried to fix it himself and didn't replace the mat between the spoiler and the tailgate.

It's crazy that some Toyota dealers have this canned response "It's not recommmended to do a full flush on the 'lifetime' WS fluid" with a sealed transmission.

BS, do the full flush or as some do in increments with a drain and fill. The trans is about 19 qts total.

A few days ago I polled five local dealer service advisors. Three of them had that canned response, one said they don't have the machine to do a flush via the trans oil cooler, and one that did the full flush on my '05 Tundra 4.7 with 118k miles on it.

I towed with that Tundra some hard miles onroad and offroad after the flush, so I'll be going to the Toyota shop that did the flush on the '05 Tundra.
