How did you do that? I was always under the impression that you needed a scantool (available only to Toyota dealer) to turn something like this off.
Luckily mine came with the seatbelt alarm off.
What did you do with your 4runner today?

1st try following the below steps.

Whoa! I think you're right! I may have just reset my oil change/maintenance light while doing the seatbelt doohicky. Good thing I know to do my oil at 80K.

The dealer didn't reset my oil light when I bought my truck, and I forgot to do it with my first change (it came on, I reset it, I changed the oil a few thousand later)...it came on again like 1K miles ago and I'm just waiting till my next oil change (~750 miles) to reset it. It's freaking me out, though, cuz I hate seeing lights on my dash...drives my OCD insane

Car back-up and travel trailer rear view cameras
I want to add a back up camera to my 4R. That install seems pretty straight forward, even while taking the shrouds off to run the wiring.
My big issue is with the rear view camera for a travel trailer. I could use a wired or wireless version, but right now, it would mean having a 2nd monitor in the car. :ballchain:
It would be fabulous if both camera could be viewed on the installed GPS/video system.
Can I get some help with this?

Did a headlight restoration today, it had been a few years and it was getting really cloudy.
Picked up the Meguiar's Heavy Duty Restoration Kit on sale at a local auto parts store.
This is after the second sanding phase with the 3000 grit
I added a step by applying rubbing compound by hand, this was done to smooth out the surface before the polishing step.
Used Turtle Wax Heavy Duty Rubbing Compound, I've also used metal polish by Mother's in the past with great success.
After rubbing compound applied (did each headlight twice)
Polished each headlight with the PlastX cream twice, then applied the UV Protectant by hand. I found the polishing wool pad that came with the kit was quite poor quality , fibers were coming off and sticking all over the headlight surface while polishing. Didn't cause any problems though, everything worked out great.
Finished
Spent about 20 minutes per headlight.

Noticed a clunking sound when going over light bumps some time ago. Figured I'd finally do something about it. New sway bar end links as well as changing the oil and rotating the tires. I'm all for using oe Toyota parts but $75 per link is a bit excessive. So I went with some Whiteline ones instead. We'll see how they hold up. They seem like pretty solid pieces though

Replace Door lock actuator motor
Since I bought my used 2005 Sport it has been annoying me that the drivers side rear door lock wouldn't work. I was always opening the front door and reaching in to unlock the door....pain in the ass. The cost of a replacement actuator is 200 to 300 dollars in my area. So today I recieved a replacement motor for 8 dollars and replaced it. Worked like a charm!! So nice to have that door lock functioning again.
$200 vs $8......NO BRAINER!!
Heres the part I used. Apparently all doors use the same motor:

Thats the one. I was thinking of getting the 4 pack too but being my first time doing it I bought just one as a test. Hopefully I wont need anymore but if I do I know where to get them!

Just realize they spent 5x what you have so not even a fair comparison. I'd like to see one of those on a tight trail.
