Flushed the 2008's frame rails with the truck on jackstands, wheels off (getting it ready for a lift). The rails were packed, I say PACKED, with dirt. I bought it a month ago, Carfax showed it was a Western Colorado truck all of its life.
Not much gravel, fine grayish sand/dust. The rear outside bumpstops there's a hole in the mount that accesses the interior of the frame rail, the sand was literally overflowing out of those holes.
The good news is there are no rust holes in the frame, I did a thorough check for rust before I bought it. Typical surface rust. I used the garden hose with a spray nozzle and put pressure into each and every access hole I could find on the rails from front to rear.
There's access holes all along the frame rails from front to rear, every one I could get my pinky into was filled with that sandy, silty material. It took about three hours to get it all flushed out, it was packed in there hard.
I'll flush it some more tomorrow, and after the XREAS is removed and the suspension is disassembled I'll clean up the surface rust and give it a good bath of Fluid film before it comes off of the jackstands.

Damn it.... While drilling mount Holes for my trans cooler I popped a hole in my AC condenser. This just got expensive.

That's funny, I did this EXACT thing, doing the exact same job. I dident even get mad or pissed at my self for doing it. Just pure depression and disappoint.
For what its worth, I got a Denso off RockAuto for just over a hundred bucks. Worked great.

Yea I just walked away extremely disappointed in myself. I should have known better. The drilling was already awkward with my winch in the way. I had the drill upside down and just barely in there with a block stuffed under the winch.
That's life!
Just ordered one off amazon (2 day prime shipping). Really sucks... might as well finish this transcooler.

Nice write up, Thanks! Going to be looking for a Scion head unit soon, hopefully with Nav. Such a way better option compared to going with an aftermarket one imo

Agreed. I guess the 2017 models come WITH a nav unit plugin for these. Personally all the nav units are iffy. I only see the use of one if you're in Canada or no reception for Google Maps, who has never let me down
I don't know if it's worth the extra $$

Slapped some clear coat automatic paint afterwards. Better than the hassle of putting in a new aftermarket headlight that may crack, have condensation built up inside, beam pattern not the same. blah blah etc etc.

Got the two pack for $28. Although one pack is actually good for two cars. Don't necessarily need more unless you want to do 2+ cars.

Discovered by accident that my go-to wheel cleaner also works wonders on cleaning up the white letters on my KO2s. It is Sonax Wheel Cleaner Full Effect. I have been using this on wheels for a long time and always liked how it works, but today i decided to spray it on my tires and let it dwell there for around 5 minutes like I usually do with the wheels. The first pic is with the cleaner on the wheel and tire (it goes on green and turns deep red as it reacts to deposits), the second pic is after using my tire brush for about 1 minute (!!!). As most of you know, keeping the white letters clean is usually a hassle, so the fact that this required such little elbow grease really made me happy. They're not perfect, but they do look a lot better I think.

that sonax wheel cleaner works great, got off 5 plus years of heavy brake dust on my dads tacoma like no problem, i did spray, sit scrub, rinse, and repeat that again, only needed to get that caked on dust on the inside of the rim. almost came out new again, but fresh water made the wheel little rust looking on the inside.
