finally gave the gf her cup holder back by adding a couple loops from an old freyed ratchet strap to the non existent drivers handle to hold my mobile radio.

Good idea there. I've been wondering why exactly there's not a handle on that side, and I'll probably do something like this with it

Happened on the only day with night driving for my eclipse trip...
Otherwise, performed like a champ for 3500 miles of western highways and 6-7 crossings of the continental divide!

Before I put them on I painted right over the red with 3 coats of caliper paint. it did drip some initially but most of the drip is on the bottom and nobody will ever see that. however after the 3rd coat its completely coated and has held up pretty well so far.

Did you take the parts off when you painted it or just tape them?

Taped them and used a small brush.. brushed it on not sprayed.

My newly acquired 301k mile 03. More like what I did over the weekend and into Monday. Refinished the wheels in grey, cleaned the plastic cladding, replaced the rear wiper and the bottom weather stripping, painted grille and rear hatch trim flat black (they were faded beyond repair), new valve cover gaskets, replaced lower radiator hose, stop leak in the transfer case for the dreaded actuator leak, mobil-1 75w-90 front and rear diffs, fresh ATF-IV in the trans, replaced one broken stud on the rear and added 1.25" spacers. Also installed rear shock upper mounts correctly, PO had installed both rubber pucks below the frame.

Got my 4LO working finally! Needed some exercise for the solenoids and some tapping but now it works flawless. Now I need to keep using it regularly. arty:

vsc and trac off lights popped up after I had troubles with my battery, so I took it to o'reilly's and a scan showed zero pt calibration which I figured was the problem from searching on this forum. Did the paper clip method and now the lights are gone. Such great info on this board that saves many of us that don't know much lots of money.

Took mine dove hunting today! We found a patch of thick trees in one of the fields we are allowed to hunt and in the trees there were a bunch of graves from the 1860s.

Today I ran my '07 out of gas on the freeway and had to walk a mile with my 9yo in tow to buy an $11 gas can and gallon of gas. Too much excitement for what should have been a routine trip. While I'll admit it was at the end of my first tank of gas as a 4R owner, I was pretty surprised never to have gotten a fuel light, to have the needle two widths above E, and an indicated range of 15 miles. Surprised, to say the least.

I usually gas up with 3 miles left on the range indicator and only fill up 21 gallons (and it is a 23 gallon tank I believe) having 2 gallons or about 30 miles left. That is really weird
