The clamp kit sucked for the LBJ's! I like the integrated boot on the Moog LBJ's. I really wish the uppers were the same because I tore 2 boots during installation.

Finished repairing deer hit number two. Got lucky, only had to replace the headlight and fender. Although the core support to fender bracket got totally mangled so I just drilled a hole through a new bracket and bolted it on since I don't have a welder. We'll see how it goes. Used the same eBay dealer for the fender as my bumper. Their galactic gray color match is really good and you almost can't tell the difference.

Today I had and fixed my first CEL on the 4runner.
Got up to go to work and got that stomach punch that happens when you watch the CEL stay illuminated after starting for the first time. VSC/Trac lights on as well. Seemed to be running normally, so I babied it to work, did some research, and took a wild guess based on what I found. I ordered a part on Amazon with same day delivery, and when I got home again later, spun up my 32bit Windows VM on my laptop with techstream and tested my guess.
Gas cap.
Turns out that was the problem, I was sold on it when I saw someone comment on an old thread on this site that they noticed that it's not that the gas cap wasnt placed on tightly, but that the gas cap was too easy to undo. When I read that comment and remembered that the last time I filled up, opening the fuel door twisted the cap loose. The new cap puts noticeably more resistance to opening, and the lights stayed off through a few test starts and a small joyride.

got myself new speakers. dealer gave me a nice 15% off discount. still need to tweak it a little.

Got all this installed yesterday. Ride is a lot better than my old daystar lift! Also removed the front sway bar.

Did you leave in the rear sway bar?
Finally got tired of missing a small sub like my old truck had. couldnt justify giving up storage space/use of the rear shelf, and didnt want anything crazy powerful, so I grabbed a Pioneer TS-WH500A off of amazon and installed it under the drivers seat. grounded to a bolt under the shifter, controller run up into the center console for now, and powered from a fuse tap. easy, discrete install, and is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. since I was able to tap a remote wire from the adapter harness for my T1819, I can still say that the one and only irreversible impact I've made on the car is cutting a wire for the SAIP bypass.
