Changed oil, and 3 spark plugs. Then found out my in-lbs torque wrench is 1/4 and I don't have the adapter for the 3/8 socket. So I had to run to the store for an adapter but now I'll have dinner and then finish the job.

Installed CBI Offroad ditch light brackets and light pods. Got them all wired in, just waiting on my switch that fits the blank in the dash. Got them mounted, wired and aimed. I'll get some pics tomorrow!

Comfortably finished the job, then laid out the plugs I took out for inspection.

Ladies and gentlemen, my engine has ran for over 177 thousand miles on its original set of spark plugs.

They appear OK besides being severely worn, except there's some oil visible towards the rear of the engine.

Severely worn may be an understatement, did you check the gap. looks to be more than twice if not three times the normal gap?

Replaced the plugs on the 4Runner. I bought it at 132k miles and wasn't sure when the plugs had been replaced.

Used OEM Denso's and the plugs I pulled were also OEM Denso's. I checked the gaps on the ones I pulled and they ranged from .53 - .60. Old plugs looked clean with no indications of anything to look further into.

Outside of removing the trim over the engine and 2 hoses, I didn't need to remove any bolts or brackets to access anything. Also used the opportunity to wipe down the engine compartment. It was caked in red dust from my last trip out to do some target shooting.

SO my blasted rear hatch was not working again. so I decided to finally put in the new hatch motor. now it works smoothly as intended.

I also put in my own cold air intake system. I found out it was way too fast for my liking because it seems that I like to put my foot down on the accelerator more than the brakes. I was hoping for a modest improvement, but it was a huge improvement. I needed a 4runner, not a LamboRunner. lol. So back the old cold air intake system it goes!

Bought my 2008 in Jan 17. Super clean. Minor surface rust on frame so I wire brushed and used some Locktite rust inhibitor. Have Fluid Film on order from Amazon.
I assume I need to cover the exhaust and anything else that heats up.
Wondering if I need to cover anything else before I spray the Fluid Film on? Any responses would be be appreciated.

Cleared stored trouble codes, some for ABS, SRS, and the manufacturer enhanced. No check engine or other light was present, and to the best of my capability I went through everything to make sure problems didn't exist. Maybe the codes weren't cleared for various reasons, but being I'm the 'new' owner I wanted a reset. Actually started this yesterday, but without results it was not worth mentioning.

Under the enhanced codes, 16 Toyota Readiness codes set. Drove some and this morning there were only 8 Readiness codes. Today I let warm till operational temperature and drove some city and highway (10 minutes no cruise control). Now there's only 5 Readiness codes showing, P0300, P0100, P0102, P0103, and P0125.

Here's what the 16 codes first looked like:

P0300- Toyota Readiness Random Misfire Detected
P0011- Toyota Readiness Intake Camshaft Position Timing - Over - Advanced (Bank 1)

For ABS codes the instructions I read were to clear the codes and see what comes back, nothing so far. That's what inspired me to clear them all.

Finished up my HID Retrofit last night! Just need to wire the Morimoto XBT bluetooth controller and plug in the drivers for the demon eyes. The lights are all finished though, and I couldn't be happier! The output of the CBI bulbs with the XB55 ballasts is ridiculous. I opted to delete my OEM high beam and I really don't regret it in the least.

I'll post some output shots tomorrow or the next day. I had to loan out the vehicle to a family member so they could deliver some furniture. I won't have her back til tomorrow =(

I replaced my ClassicAutos LED dome light, with the SiriusLED 400 Lumens 31 mm LEDs. The dome lights from ClassicAutos didn't last long. The SiriusLEDs are extremely bright.
