What did you do with your 4runner today?

Spent literally the whole day cleaning my battery corrosion and then driving around 4-5 parts stores to hunt for new bracket and j bolts. Because when I was at the first store early in the morning I was like "nah I don't need those". Then one of the bolts broke when I tried to loosen the nut so I tied the battery down temporarily and then it was hell hunting new bolts (saturday afternoon traffic and several stores didn't have what I needed).

I went thru the battery corrosion thing too. Converted to tundra battery clamps (since my original clamps were all corroded to crap), and agm battery, corrosion free ever since

Yeah I'm looking at getting a DieHard Gold AGM EP-34R tomorrow. Reading on AGM batteries and this one seems to be the safest bet.

Put on CBI's ditch light brackets and Rigid D2 spots with my dad. Still need to hook them up. Then had the '17 TRD off road wheels put on. Here's a before and after:

Installed some Focal PS 165V1 component speakers to replace the Infinity 6500cs speakers. Sounds great.

Today has been the worst for me

Hey guys, ok so I think I broke my 03 4runner. I got new tires two days ago and went missing today. Everything was a blast except after I got dont with the mud part. I was on the pavement and noticed it was pulling me left and That the diff locked I was going like 55 mph. I wasn’t aware of what it did so I just hit the button and there was a grinding sound followed by a little pop. So I quickly put the diff lock back on and everything was cool, until I pulled over to see what was up. I parked it and then turned off the diff lock. My car started rolling so I hit the break... strange. So I put it into gear and heard this grinding noise and it wouldn’t go into gear. Can I get a clue as to wtf is happening to my baby?

Sounds like you blew a CV axle or the front diff. Mine did the same thing when I blew my CV. I suppose you could have also blew the center diff. None of them are too bad and definitely fixable.

Rolled over our 50k miles anniversary together. Got it a little too muddy this weekend so I decided to pull the trigger on some 295/70-17 Cooper STT pros while the discounttiredirect deal is still going on on ebay. $100 off $400 or more, so buy 2 and send a buddy some paypal cash for him to buy 2 and you get $200 off their already good deals.

Did you feel any kind of improvement?

I did, actually. I'm pretty tuned into my rig after the miles I've put on it and the work I've done to/with it. It's certainly smoother. another benefit was that my rear bumper was just touching the trailer hitch (Curt) I have on the rig, and now it's hovering above it. So that's good. All of the bushings showed varying amounts of wear, some more than others. The rig rides maybe 1/4inch higher than it did before, and the job didn't tax me too bad in terms of time or effort...

Put on the Shrockworks sliders for the 3rd time. I'm trying to get them to fit and having a hell of time. Been rubbing the Cab from underneath, and may still even after adding brand new upper body mount bushings...

Did a bunch of stuff this weekend to my daughter's "new" 2003 Limited V8. Cleaned it thoroughly, replaced the hood struts, installed a Pioneer double DIN stereo and did the first oil change. The oil change wasn't as easy as it is on my lifted V6, but since she doesn't have a skid plate, it was still pretty easy. I also have Fumoto valve on order for next time.

That's good to know, as I'm "sportifying" the suspension I wouldn't mind reclaiming a bit of ride quality.
