Today I had the left manifold exhaust gasket replaced. The 2004 V8 was definitely ticking on acceleration. It took the shop 2 hours labor to replace the gasket. The truck is now SUPER quiet. Was worth every penny. 239K miles.

1st post!

Was off this weekend and swapped out the hideous chrome grille, for a color matched Limited grille. Looks 1000 times better, and will look even better when I get my Cornfed lift on.

Did some long over due maintenance on the truck.

Replaced the front blown front strut with a set of jfcruiser off-road package that were giving to me.

Replace the t-stat since I felt like the V8 was taking to much time to warm up.

Replace the k&n oil filter since it was leaking from the last oil change.

Installed a set of steelies so I don't ruin the wheels with the salty road.

Remove the rear broken section of oem exhaust. I'm wating on some metal pipe to install my magnaflow resonator.

Removed the rear "4runner" since it was missing the last R and while is was there I also removed the writing "toyota".

Fixed some rust on the driver door sill. Door his sagging so I'll have to fix that eventually.

Installed some led bulb in the dome light and doors

Scanned the check engine light and p0420 comes up... Will have to investigate if it's the O2 or the cat itself.

And I think that's it for today. More to come folks.

p0430 code came back. Definitely not the gas cap this time. At least now I have an OBD2 reader so I could confirm that’s what it was - cleared it we’ll see how fast it comes back again.

Seems like I’m going to be fiddling with downstream O2 sensors and maybe catalytic converter‘s before too long.

Changed the right CV axle this evening. The boots were torn and slinging grease all over. The grease was all dried up on the frame and other areas. It must have been leaking for a long time. There was still a little bit of grease inside the boots. The left CV gets changed tomorrow night. Maybe. I am old and can't crawl around like I used to. LOL

Finally got some sun in to wash the 4R, and I removed the running boards last week. Nothing special but I like how it looks without them much better! Also replaced the serpentine belt on Monday, so no more squeak! [emoji1303]

Edit: I think it might be time to replace the front springs/shocks, I’d like a better stance in the front. Not sure if they need to be upgraded, but thinking about throwing some Bilsteins in to fix it.

Started install of my new Demello bumper! Could not finish beause started feeling sick, hopefully didn't get the flu from my daughter :-( Need to do winch and lights still, tidy up a few things. Love the look so far though!

Finally got the 5th Gen wheels back from powder coating. I think it looks great. I had to paint the center caps with some Rustoleum Metallic to match.

Going through your insta, did you get the Glind shower in? How do you like it, especially in comparison to your waterport?

The glind is awesome. It uses engine heat to heat your water. The waterport also does well at heating water but they advertise it holds pressure for quite some time( can't remember the exact time claimed) but that just isn't so. You have to repressurize it every time you shower. I like the glind better

After installing spidertrax spacers I drove 50 miles and checked the torque, followed instructions and they remained perfectly tight.
