Picked up my new to me 4Runner yesterday, couldn’t be happier. Have a lot to learn but really enjoying the car so far:

Fly Rod Holder

Built this today for an upcoming trip. The cargo hooks are a godsend. On my former ride, I had to hook this to the rear side window with suction cups. A 9 foot rod bends down the windshield about 1/2 way. Bungee holds the middle up between the rear passenger handles.

Also got my from sway bar bushings replaced today and pulled my skid plates and repainted them with truck bed liner. I am enjoying having this rig that is so easy to wrench on.

Replaced my blown ill sub

Just went with a 2 ohm dual coil pioneer. It sounds great and it only cost me 75$. Then I went out and got it dirty. Can't wait for a lift and tires.

Jerry Can Holder for Wilco Hitchgate

I couldn't see me spending $350 for Wilco's Jerry can holder that mounts to the Hitchgate, so I made one for about $100 total. Details will be in my build thread soon.

Installed an Old Shark G15 dash cam and did the map light mod using the method described in this video.

Got the front left LCA out without needing to cut the cam adjusters luckily.
Right one is tomorrow. Important part of the project is stop for some of the cake donuts you bought once every hour.

I installed a voltmeter, after taking the running boards off. Iv'e had the rig now for over a week, and am enjoying owning a 4runner.

Nice rod rack. I jam my rod beside the passenger side seats and I'm always worried that I'm going to snap them or someone will get in and close the door on them. I have a similar strap but I hang my waders from it on the drive home to dry them out.

Did you snap off one of the nuts on the sway bar bushing? if so, what did they do to fix it or was it another issue?

Replaced Wheel Bearings

I had the wheel bearing assemblies replaced. It wasn't a job that I wanted to tackle myself so I took it to a friends shop. I had one bad assembly and know this is a problem area so I just replaced both. I purchased the hub assemblies from nj636 (jerseybuilthubs). Very high quality product. Lead time is around 3-4 weeks so if you order from him, plan ahead if possible. My T4R is running real smooth and quiet again.

Got the frozen right LCA out without cutting. It is possible if you are willing to bend open the front mount a little.

I'm Looking forward to seeing some pics of your lift setup. that's pretty much the same exact lift i'm looking at upgrading from my daystar spacer lift. unless i can find something better for the price.
there was a pick someone posted with the same setup except the added 1/4" top spacers and the thing looked like it almost sat level. I have a feeling it probably will be closer to a 3/2 even unloaded. I'd really like to see how yours tuns out. there's not too many people with this lift.

Oh, I'll be posting pics when it installed. Gonna be the fat kid with skinny jeans look though, not doing wheels or tires till next year.

I'm pretty sure it will sit closer to 3/3, unloaded. However, I've already got a prinsu rack and a RTT (that was supposed to only go on for trips, but it hasn't come off the rack since it went up, and its probably never coming down). I'll do a ladder this fall, and I'm already looking at tire carriers. I don't think I"ll ever go the full front/rear plate bumper route, but my point is, I'm only adding more and more weight to the thing.

I think mine will probably be slightly lower than that dudes you mentioned, and level, when loaded down. My wife would kill me if I lifted it any higher than this. She was already complaining about the 2/1 OME lift I had on my tacoma :roll:

Most people either stay a little lower than this lift, or they go heavier springs because they have a TON of weight, so practically they end up lower when full of gear. I have a feeling I may end up regretting going this high, but we'll see. If nothing else, 285's will be an easy fit if I decide to go wider than the 255's i'm planning.

Last night I installed my 2d gen Moog rear sway bar links, pn K80380. Was surprised to see made in Japan cast on the part.

added a 3gallon air tank where the stock spare goes, hooked up to the arb compressor under the hood. Mounted a quick connect air chuck in the rear bumper.

also added a diff lock actuator for the arb lockers from a land cruiser. the arb switches were just kind of big and ugly. took a bit of work with the dremel but it worked out ok.

Been looking at doing something like this myself for a tank, nice to see one mounted in there for size reference.

Also dig the 4x4Labs rear (more pics?!) and use of cube lights, put mine in the same spot but on top. Cool idea to put them on the lower side.

Finally gave my 4th gen a much needed bath. Most of the attention gets funneled to my Tundra or my 5th gen and I was dealing with a bum knee for the first quarter of the year.

Most of there sway bar links are made in Japan butttt tie rod ends that I’ve gotten for my 4th gen Seem to be made in Indonesia… This was two days after I installed them, mind you I live in California and there has been no rain! Tip for others paint them before you put them on!
